Job description
Construction projects at Turner & Townsend in Abu Dhabi need sound cost advice from inception through design completion, and this Assistant Cost Manager supports that pre-contract work. Feasibility estimates, cost plans, budgets and benchmarking exercises are prepared with care and updated as designs move from concept to detailed stages. Design information is reviewed for cost implications, feeding value engineering and cost optimisation. Tender documentation, bills of quantities and procurement packages are prepared, and contractor and supplier quotations are checked for completeness and value. Commercial analysis then supports contract award recommendations. Client meetings, workshops and cost reviews give you direct exposure to clients and consultants under senior guidance. Cost records, procurement files and cost databases are kept accurate for current projects and future benchmarking. A Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Cost Management, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture or a related field and 1-5 years in quantity surveying or construction consultancy are required, covering both pre-contract and post-contract services. Cost management software experience, professional membership and knowledge of UAE construction practice would help.
