Job description
The Developer Experience Expert at Tap Payments is responsible for ensuring a seamless integration experience for merchants and partners integrating with Tapās payment platform. This role bridges the gap between internal teams and external developers, offering hands-on technical support, documentation, training, and issue resolution. The position demands a strong grasp of APIs, SDKs, and payment technologies, coupled with the ability to articulate solutions, troubleshoot issues, and enhance the overall developer journey.
Required skills
Key responsibilities
- Scope projects, build business cases, and assist with product integrations.
- Analyze merchant requirements and coordinate with their development teams.
- Respond to technical inquiries from the ticketing system and troubleshoot via online meetings.
- Build, enhance, and maintain technical documentation.
- Provide training to merchants and partners on gateway functionality.
- Support merchants with account and gateway technical issues.
- Coordinate among customer care, sales, and technical teams during integrations.
- Organize training sessions on product developments.
- Understand payment ecosystems in local and global markets.
- Collaborate with internal engineers to build new features.
- Improve internal engineering standards and tools.
- Solve integration and production issues through ticket management.
- Conduct API testing in collaboration with the product team.
- Write and update API documentation.
- Suggest feature improvements to product and management teams.
- Track and manage merchant integration issues.
- Guide merchants through the integration process and ensure go-live readiness.
- Deliver technical training sessions and documentation to support implementation.
- Test merchant integrations to identify pre-production issues.
- Support existing merchants with complex technical troubleshooting.
- Engage with the developer community to stay updated on trends.
- Act as the technical liaison between developers and Tap's engineering team.
Experience & skills
- 2ā4 years of relevant experience, preferably in fintech.
- Understanding of APIs, Mobile SDKs, Web SDKs.
- Working knowledge of API tools and integration processes.
- Basic understanding of web and mobile programming concepts.
- Ability to manage client and stakeholder relationships effectively.
- Experience in technical support or developer-facing roles.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills in English; Arabic is a plus.
