Job description
The Senior Team Leader is responsible for overseeing maintenance activities, personnel supervision, and asset reliability within a designated area at Dubai Airports. The role ensures that all scheduled and reactive maintenance tasks are executed safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with technical standards and SOPs. The role combines technical expertise in electrical/mechanical equipment with operational leadership, including shift planning, CMMS management, troubleshooting, safety adherence, reporting, and continuous improvement. The Senior Team Leader acts as the technical escalation point for fault finding and ensures that all work is delivered to a high standard of quality and reliability.
Required skills
Key responsibilities
- Lead and supervise maintenance personnel during assigned shifts
- Ensure all maintenance activities comply with technical and safety requirements
- Interpret and describe electrical and mechanical drawings and schematics
- Use and interpret results from electrical/mechanical test equipment
- Plan shift activities including manpower allocation, materials, safety measures and mobilization
- Perform and oversee troubleshooting and fault-finding of plant, systems and equipment
- Prepare shift reports, log books, handover notes and ensure accurate documentation
- Manage and update CMMS work orders and ensure workflow compliance
- Deliver toolbox talks and technical briefings
- Provide technical guidance to team members during complex repairs
- Drive continuous improvement and adherence to SOPs
- Act as a role model by demonstrating accuracy, discipline, and quality-first execution
- Support any additional tasks assigned by line management
Experience & skills
- Industrial Training Institute Certificate or 3-year technical Diploma in Motor Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent
- Minimum 4 years of experience in a facility maintenance or similar environment
- IOSH Working Safely or equivalent safety certification
- Valid UAE driving license (mandatory)
- Strong technical knowledge of electrical/mechanical systems and standards
- Experience with CMMS and maintenance documentation processes
- Ability to lead teams and coordinate shift activities
- Strong troubleshooting and fault diagnosis capabilities
- Ability to prepare reports and maintain accurate records
- Strong communication skills for briefings and shift handovers
