Job description
Hello Chef is hiring a Finance Manager â Cost Control & Planning to lead cost discipline and planning at the core of a fast-scaling meal-kit business. Reporting to the CEO, the role owns COGS accuracy and variance tracking, reduces the gap between theoretical and actual food cost, and builds the systems, guardrails, and visibility that keep food and packaging costs tightly managed. The remit includes cost control and variance forensics across ordering, inventory, yield, and wastage; creation and maintenance of a rolling 12-month forecast updated monthly; integration of financial insights into business reviews; and timely, accurate reporting by brand, channel, and customer type. The position ensures smooth, compliant finance operations by overseeing accurate month-end close, reconciliations, tax filings, and audit readiness, while guiding a lean finance team and outsourced partners. It requires ERP/Systems masteryâdeep understanding of how costing, inventory, and reporting flows connect across ERP and WMS systemsâspotting discrepancies, mapping data flows, and improving system accuracy and design. The role delivers insightful financial reporting that links contribution margin and segment insights to commercial decisions, and partners closely with Food and Ops to influence behaviors and embed cost discipline. Preferred backgrounds include structured F&B (hotels, QSRs), e-commerce food, or FMCG/manufacturing with complex inventory in dynamic, high-volume settings. Benefits include market-competitive compensation with biannual reviews, 22 days annual leave, annual flight allowance, relocation support, premium medical coverage (mental health, dental, optical), generous parental leave, 50% Hello Chef discount with weekly tastings, and a high-feedback, high-growth culture with real ownership.
