Job description
The Senior Credit Manager, Specialised Finance will operate as part of the second line of defence (2LoD) within Specialised Finance Risk, supporting the Corporate, Commercial and Institutional Bank (CCIB) and Financial Markets (FM) businesses. The role involves managing credit risk across a complex portfolio that includes Project and Export Finance, Leveraged and Acquisition Finance, Commercial Real Estate (CRE) Financing, Transportation Finance (Aviation and Shipping), Fund Financing, and Asset-backed Securitisation. The manager will be responsible for early-stage deal screening, conducting detailed due diligence, influencing transaction structuring for best-in-class underwriting, and ensuring transactions align with risk appetite and capital optimisation. Responsibilities include approving 1LoD credit applications and rating assessments, monitoring credit portfolios for deterioration through stress testing and early alert systems, and conducting periodic reviews with senior stakeholders. The role demands comprehensive understanding of the bankās regulatory environment, governance, and risk frameworks, ensuring compliance with the Groupās Risk Management Framework and Operational Risk Framework for credit risk. The incumbent must act as the Credit Risk control owner, ensuring effective control processes, reporting compliance, and escalation of significant risk issues to governance committees. Additional expectations include leading 2LoD initiatives, enhancing governance and regulatory reporting, ensuring consistent application of global credit policies, and promoting a robust culture of conduct and risk awareness. The role also requires regular engagement with regulators, senior risk partners, and cross-functional teams globally. As a people leader and risk specialist, the Senior Credit Manager is expected to drive continuous improvement in risk management, strengthen portfolio quality, and represent Specialised Finance Risk in client due diligence, regulatory interactions, and industry events.
