Job description
The Project Manager - Marine at Waagner Biro Bridge Services in Dubai is responsible for leading and delivering complex marine and coastal infrastructure projects including quay walls, jetties, breakwaters, revetments, dredging, reclamation, and shoreline protection works. The role involves managing end-to-end project execution from planning, resource allocation, scheduling, budgeting, and delivery while ensuring compliance with quality, safety, and regulatory requirements. The position requires coordinating with clients, consultants, port authorities, municipalities, and regulatory bodies to ensure smooth project execution. The Project Manager oversees subcontractors, marine crews, and site teams, manages procurement of marine equipment including barges, tugs, cranes, and dredgers, and ensures optimal productivity and performance across multidisciplinary teams including civil, mechanical, structural, and electrical engineering disciplines. The role requires strong knowledge of marine construction methodologies, sequencing, logistics, and environmental constraints including weather conditions, tides, offshore risks, and site accessibility. The position includes reviewing and approving method statements, risk assessments, and technical submittals while ensuring compliance with HSE standards including marine safety protocols and lifting operations. The Project Manager leads project meetings, progress reporting, and stakeholder communication while managing contractual obligations, quality standards, and project commercial performance under FIDIC contracts. The role requires experience working with UAE authorities such as Ports and Municipalities and delivering projects safely, on time, and within budget in complex marine environments.

Key responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end execution of marine and coastal infrastructure projects including planning, scheduling, resource allocation, budgeting, and delivery while ensuring compliance with project objectives
- Manage marine construction activities including quay walls, jetties, breakwaters, revetments, dredging, reclamation, and shoreline protection works
- Develop and monitor project schedules, track progress against milestones, and implement corrective actions to maintain timelines and budgets
- Coordinate with clients, consultants, port authorities, municipalities, and regulatory bodies to ensure project compliance and smooth execution
- Oversee subcontractors, marine crews, and multidisciplinary site teams to ensure productivity, quality, and safety performance
- Review and approve method statements, risk assessments, and technical submittals to ensure adherence to engineering and safety standards
- Manage procurement and mobilization of marine equipment including barges, tugs, cranes, dredgers, and related marine assets
- Identify project risks including weather, tides, and logistics constraints and implement mitigation strategies while leading project meetings and reporting
Experience & skills
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Marine Engineering, or related discipline
- Minimum 15 years experience in marine and coastal infrastructure projects including quay walls, jetties, breakwaters, dredging, and reclamation
- Proven track record delivering marine construction projects within budget, timeline, and quality standards
- Strong knowledge of marine construction methodologies, sequencing, logistics, and offshore operational environments
- Experience working with UAE authorities including Ports, Municipalities, and regulatory bodies
- Sound understanding of FIDIC contracts and project commercial management
- Demonstrated leadership experience managing multidisciplinary engineering and marine construction teams
- Experience managing procurement, risk management, and stakeholder communication in marine construction environments
