Job description
The AWS Cloud Architect (Manager / Senior Manager) is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing scalable, secure, and cost-effective cloud solutions on the Amazon Web Services (AWS) platform within a consulting environment. The role involves close collaboration with business and technical stakeholders to understand requirements, architect enterprise-grade AWS infrastructure, and ensure best practices in cloud adoption and migration. The position includes developing and implementing cloud strategies covering security, governance, and compliance frameworks, providing technical leadership on AWS best practices, evaluating new AWS services and tools, and ensuring adherence to security policies and regulatory requirements in cloud environments. The role operates across Deloitte engagements in Saudi Arabia and Jordan, supporting clients with cloud transformation initiatives, cloud migration projects, secure AWS environment design, and integration within agile and DevOps delivery models, while also contributing to training, mentoring, and knowledge transfer for AWS technologies.
Required skills
Key responsibilities
- Design and architect AWS cloud solutions that meet defined business and technical requirements
- Develop and implement cloud strategies including security, governance, and compliance frameworks
- Collaborate with development, operations, and security teams to ensure seamless integration and deployment of AWS cloud services
- Provide technical leadership and guidance on AWS architecture best practices
- Create and maintain cloud architecture documentation, diagrams, and standards
- Evaluate new AWS services and tools to continuously improve cloud architecture and operations
- Conduct training sessions and knowledge transfer on AWS technologies
- Ensure adherence to security policies and compliance requirements within AWS cloud environments
Experience & skills
- Minimum of 8+ years of experience in cloud technologies with at least 3 years in AWS cloud architecture
- Hands-on experience securing AWS environments
- Experience delivering cloud migration projects
- Strong experience with AWS services including EC2, S3, VPC, Lambda, RDS, CloudFormation, IAM, and CloudWatch
- Experience working in agile and DevOps environments
- Preferred AWS certifications including AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional and AWS Certified DevOps Engineer
- Exposure to containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes
- Experience with multi-cloud environments including Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud Platform is an advantage
- Familiarity with DevOps tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, and AWS CodePipeline
- Experience with disaster recovery planning and implementation in cloud environments
