Job description
The Accountant - Builders Program (Co-op Training / Internship) role at Tamara in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia is part of a flagship internship and co-op track designed for students seeking hands-on, high-impact experience within a fast-moving FinTech environment. Tamara, Saudi Arabia’s first FinTech unicorn, operates a customer-centric financial super app and is focused on innovation, collaboration, and building future talent. The role sits within the Finance team and is responsible for supporting month-end closing activities, preparing accurate and timely financial reports, assisting with financial operations, and ensuring accuracy of financial data within internal systems. The intern will also support the implementation and maintenance of internal financial controls and procedures, assist with audit-related tasks, and contribute to daily finance team operations. The position requires proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, particularly Excel and Word, as well as familiarity with accounting principles and financial reporting processes. Exposure to accounting systems such as Oracle is preferred. The role emphasizes accuracy, attention to detail, analytical thinking, and the ability to work collaboratively in a high-performance, agile environment while supporting the company’s financial integrity and operational efficiency.

Key responsibilities
- Support the finance team in executing month-end closing activities by assisting with reconciliations, journal preparation support, data validation, and ensuring all financial records are accurately captured within internal systems in alignment with closing timelines
- Prepare, compile, and deliver accurate financial reports in a timely manner by organizing financial data, supporting reporting templates, and ensuring consistency and correctness of figures used for internal financial reporting purposes
- Assist in daily financial operations by supporting routine accounting activities, maintaining financial records, updating system entries, and helping ensure smooth execution of core finance processes across the department
- Assist with audit-related activities by gathering required financial documentation, supporting audit queries, ensuring data traceability, and helping maintain compliance with internal and external audit requirements
- Support the implementation and maintenance of internal financial controls by following established accounting procedures, assisting in process documentation, and ensuring adherence to financial policies and control frameworks
- Ensure high levels of financial data accuracy within accounting systems by validating entries, identifying discrepancies, supporting corrections, and maintaining integrity of financial information used for reporting and decision-making
- Assist finance team members with ad-hoc tasks and operational requests by responding quickly to urgent requirements, supporting time-sensitive deliverables, and contributing to flexible workload distribution across the team
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional team members by maintaining clear communication, demonstrating responsiveness in task execution, and contributing positively to team productivity in a fast-paced environment
Experience & skills
- Currently pursuing or holding a degree in Accounting or Finance and demonstrating exposure through internship or co-op training experience in accounting functions such as month-end closing, financial reporting, and daily finance operations
- Demonstrate familiarity with accounting systems such as Oracle or similar enterprise resource planning tools used for financial reporting, transaction processing, and accounting data management
- Exhibit strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel for financial analysis and reporting tasks, and Word for documentation and reporting preparation purposes
- Apply a basic understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting concepts to support accurate preparation of reports, reconciliation tasks, and financial data validation activities
