Job description
As a Platform Engineer youâll play a key role in delivering unique client co-creation experiences to accelerate their transformation. Youâll be involved in all aspects of integrated solutions, from identifying requirements to making technical decisions that impact the business case and working with cross-functional teams to realize the full potential of our hybrid cloud and AI solutions. You'll be integral in creating user-centric, compelling pilots that lead clients to continually invest in IBMâs people, products, and services.

Key responsibilities
- Leverage contemporary hybrid cloud skills like AI, analytics, DevOps, DevSecOps, and more.
- Understand clientsâ businesses deeply to tailor solutions effectively.
- Define and communicate IBMâs technology value, both technically and commercially.
- Participate in client sessions focused on various cloud technologies like Red Hat OpenShift, IBM Cloud Paks, and Kubernetes.
- Advise on solution architecture to align with best practices and ease deployment transitions.
- Work with deployment teams to ensure seamless transitions of platform assets for clients.
Experience & skills
- Hands-on experience with a wide range of cloud and AI technologies.
- Practical knowledge of virtualized on-premise and cloud-based computing platforms.
- Experience in automating application and infrastructure deployment workflows.
- Proven record of participating in customer-facing technical solutions teams across various cloud architectures.
- Technical experience in a cloud-related domain such as Data/Analytics, Data Science, Security, or other cloud-native technologies.
- Understanding and practical application of Agile best practices.
- Proficiency in at least one common cloud-native programming language (Java, Python, HCL, Rust, Ansible, etc.).
- At least 1 year in a technical operations role (e.g., site reliability or platform engineering) in hybrid-cloud and on-premise environments.
- Experience in deploying and operating solutions on AWS, Azure, IBM Cloud, or Google Cloud.
- Experience as a Solution Architect or in a public cloud consulting role.
- Knowledge of Well-Architected Frameworks from AWS, Azure, IBM Cloud, or Google Cloud.
- Relevant technical certifications (e.g., CNCF, AWS, IBM Cloud, Azure, Google Cloud, DevOps).
- Experience working in dynamic team environments and cross-functionally with teams such as Product Management, Engineering, and Customer Success.
