The Engineering Manager at Four Seasons Resort and Residences AMAALA at Triple Bay is a key pre-opening leadership role responsible for overseeing the daily maintenance and operational efficiency of all mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and life safety systems across a luxury resort environment. Reporting to the Director of Engineering, the role ensures that all resort infrastructure operates to the highest standards of safety, reliability, and luxury guest experience. The position involves supervising the engineering and maintenance team, conducting regular inspections of guest rooms, public areas, kitchens, pools, and critical building systems, and ensuring all preventive maintenance programs are effectively implemented. The Engineering Manager is responsible for maintaining compliance with local health, safety, fire life safety, and building codes while ensuring rapid response to guest requests, maintenance issues, and emergency situations to minimize downtime and service disruption. The role includes managing departmental budgets, monitoring energy consumption, and implementing cost-saving and sustainability initiatives while maintaining operational excellence. As part of a pre-opening team, the Engineering Manager supports equipment installation, system testing, and overall operational readiness of the resort. The position also involves training, motivating, and developing engineering staff to uphold Four Seasons luxury standards and ensuring strong coordination between engineering operations and guest service delivery. The role requires strong technical expertise in building systems, leadership capability, and experience in luxury hospitality engineering environments.

Key responsibilities
- Manage and supervise daily engineering and maintenance operations across the resort ensuring all mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and life safety systems function efficiently and safely in alignment with luxury hospitality standards.
- Conduct regular inspections of all resort facilities including guest rooms, public areas, kitchens, pools, and back-of-house areas to ensure optimal system performance and compliance with safety standards.
- Oversee preventive maintenance programs for all critical systems including HVAC, MEP, electrical, plumbing, and life safety systems to ensure operational reliability and minimize downtime.
- Ensure compliance with local health, safety, fire life safety, and building regulations by implementing strict maintenance protocols and monitoring system performance.
- Respond promptly to guest maintenance requests, system failures, and emergency situations to minimize operational disruptions and maintain service excellence.
- Manage departmental budgets and monitor energy usage by implementing cost control measures and energy efficiency initiatives without compromising quality or guest experience.
- Support pre-opening engineering activities including equipment installation, system commissioning, testing, and operational readiness planning for the resort.
- Train, develop, and motivate engineering team members to ensure adherence to Four Seasons standards and continuous improvement in operational performance.
Experience & skills
- Possess a degree or diploma in Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related technical field relevant to hotel engineering operations.
- Have a minimum of 5 years of experience in engineering operations including at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role within luxury hotels or resorts.
- Demonstrate strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and building systems maintenance within hospitality environments.
- Possess proficiency in fire life safety systems, emergency response procedures, and compliance with building safety regulations.
- Show experience in preventive maintenance planning and execution for large-scale hospitality or resort facilities.
- Demonstrate understanding of sustainability initiatives and energy conservation programs within building operations.
- Exhibit strong leadership, team management, and problem-solving skills in high-end hospitality environments.
- Be fluent in English and capable of effective communication within international and multicultural teams.
