Job description
The role manages all Treasury Operations Middle Office control activities for QNB, including oversight of documentation, interest accruals, premium/discount amortization, and monitoring treasury transactions from a risk standpoint to ensure no processing lapses occur. Responsibilities include monitoring workflow to ensure all Front Office transactions are accurately processed, supervising treasury reconciliations, suspense accounts, and static data setup in the Treasury System, and issuing alerts to Treasury, Risk, and FCD when required. The role ensures accurate recording of derivative product profit and loss, supports management of the bankās large investment portfolio, contributes to annual budgeting and business planning, and controls financial reporting for treasury products. Duties include monitoring ISDA, GMRA, Islamic agreements, and EMTN documentation; managing month-end reporting, limit monitoring across Nostro, counterparty, investment portfolio, currency movement, yield curve, and valuation; ensuring correct posting and booking of transactions; handling interest receipts/payments; updating market prices for fair value exposures; responding to Financial Control queries; supporting internal and external audits; and ensuring required reporting to management and the Central Bank. Responsibilities also cover reconciliation under ISDA protocols/EMIR/MRUD regulations, margin calculations for repos and derivatives, Islamic transaction monitoring, reviewing brokerage costs, reviewing EMTN legal documents, and verifying KYC requirements for new treasury customers. The role involves continuous improvement, staff supervision, coaching, identifying development needs, and fostering innovation within the team while maintaining strong understanding of capital markets, derivatives, investment accounting, treasury systems, and emerging regulatory requirements.

- Assist EVP ā Treasury and Asset Operations in annual budgeting, business planning, and ongoing monitoring
- Implement KPIs and best practices for the Treasury Operations Middle Office function
- Control all financial reporting for treasury products and supervise related operational tasks
- Monitor management of the investment portfolio and ensure accurate derivative P&L recording
- Provide assurance to management and QCB that capital markets and investment positions align with strategy and regulatory limits
- Ensure SLA adherence and maintain strong relationships with internal units
- Manage middle office, control, and documentation units and ensure team capability in workflows
- Monitor and support negotiations of ISDA, GMRA, Islamic agreements, brokerage agreements, and EMTN documentation
- Ensure accurate month-end reporting and system application
- Monitor Nostro, counterparty, and investment limits; currency movements; yield curve and valuation metrics
- Monitor FX P/L for treasury and branches and address Financial Control variances
- Ensure correct booking, approval, and accounting mapping for all treasury transactions
- Ensure accurate interest receipts/payments and market price updates for fair value exposures
- Respond to internal and external auditors and ensure compliance with policy and Central Bank reporting
- Supervise staff, ensure coordination, and support international branches and subsidiaries
- Monitor treasury static data setup and customer creation accuracy
- Verify reconciliations and margin calculations per ISDA, EMIR, and MRUD regulations
- Monitor Islamic transactions, rate refixings, and cash flow settlements
- Review brokerage costs and EMTN legal documents for settlement
- Review KYC for onboarding treasury customers and agreements such as ISDA, GMRA, CSA
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives, encourage innovative thinking, and drive adoption of advanced practices
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of capital markets, derivatives, treasury accounting, regulatory requirements, and treasury systems
Experience & skills
- Hold a Bachelorās or Masterās Degree in Marketing, Banking, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, Information Technology, or related field (Masterās preferred)
- Possess at least 15 years of relevant experience within a highly rated international bank or Treasury Operations/Capital Markets
- Have at least 7ā8 years of managerial-level experience
- Demonstrate understanding of capital markets, derivatives, investment accounting, balance-sheet and off-balance-sheet treatment, revaluation methods, liquidity, and gapping
- Possess deep knowledge of treasury systems including static setup, processing routines, accounting rules, and reporting
- Awareness of regulatory frameworks including EMIR and MRUD
- Ability to supervise large teams, resolve conflicts, and drive staff development
- Strong analytical, risk management, financial control, and problem-solving capabilities
- Ability to manage high-volume treasury workflows, reconciliations, documentation, and reporting under strict regulatory environments
