Job description
The Director, Transaction Banking Corporate Sales at Standard Chartered is responsible for supporting the corporate coverage team in deepening transaction banking (cash) product penetration in the Middle East. This role involves strategizing client-level plans, proposing complex structured solutions, identifying business opportunities, and leading pitches and RFPs for clients. It also requires aligning sales efforts with the bankās digital agenda, ensuring superior client experience, driving revenue, and contributing to the financial targets for the region. The director will actively manage client engagements, ensure seamless execution and revenue realization, and support regulatory and compliance adherence.

Key responsibilities
- Create long-term strategic and tactical client-level strategy for assigned clients
- Feed client strategy into account plans and align with coverage partners
- Develop client stakeholder mapping and global calling plans
- Define digitization agenda to enhance loyalty and wallet share
- Identify and structure cash business opportunities with effective pitching and mandate delivery
- Collaborate with implementation and service teams for seamless client experience
- Drive business origination and healthy pipeline management
- Lead RFP responses and client pitches, manage execution, and ensure revenue realization
- Promote electronic banking products and commercialisation of new products
- Understand client financial needs and decision-making processes
- Develop and own account plan commitments and client targets
- Drive cash opportunity development with product and coverage teams
- Regularly inspect and update the sales pipeline
- Increase client penetration by showcasing network and product capabilities
- Take the lead on identifying client needs, structuring proposals, and delivering pitches
- Work with structured solutions and treasury teams for complex deals
- Monitor channel usage and ensure follow-up for BAU liability growth
- Assist in credit-related work and ensure product compliance
- Adhere to highest ethical standards and regulatory guidelines
Experience & skills
- Masterās degree or equivalent qualification
- Knowledge of electronic banking products
- Familiarity with emerging technologies in banking
- Experience in sales proposals and presentations
- Regional experience in the Middle East preferred
- Fintech knowledge is advantageous
- Banking experience required
- Competencies in customer focus, collaboration, and decision quality
- Adherence to technical competencies for transaction banking
- Proven ability to handle complex structured solutions
- Track record in deal execution and revenue management
- Understanding of compliance and regulatory requirements in banking
