Job description
Expo 2030 Riyadh covers a 6 km² site with 491,100 m² of exhibition space, and Bechtel manages the infrastructure programme for its early works, utilities, streets and parks. This Deputy Field Engineering Manager oversees 'Build' Contractors on that programme, which will later become a mixed-use legacy development. Constructability input starts at the formation, bid, evaluation and award stages of each contract. Contract general terms and conditions get reviewed from a Construction viewpoint to flag ambiguities, conflicts or scope deviations, with mitigation recommended as work proceeds. Field work spans earthwork, excavation, concrete, structural steel, mechanical equipment, piping, electrical installation and wet and dry underground utilities. Discipline lead field engineers and the Construction Supervision Consultant's engineers report through you on technical submittals, inspection and testing. Managing that consultant contract also means checking resources, HSEQ compliance, installed quantities and contractor payment applications. Quality support covers audits, FAT procedures and site inspections, and Field Change Requests and Change Orders draw on your technical input. Candidates need 20 years in large-scale construction or a senior PMC role, KSA or GCC experience, knowledge of codes such as the Saudi Building Code, high-level English and Arabic speaking capability.
