Job description
The Finance Lead (Head of Finance) will be responsible for leading all financial functions of a fast-growing UAE-based grocery e-commerce company, ensuring capital and resources are used effectively to maintain financial health and drive profitability. The role involves developing and executing financial strategies aligned with corporate goals, providing insights to the CEO and board, managing investor relations, leading budgeting and forecasting, assessing financial risks, and optimizing capital allocation. The position also requires building and mentoring a high-performing finance team, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulatory frameworks, and driving continuous improvement across financial operations. The Finance Lead will act as a key strategic advisor to leadership, shaping financial decisions to support sustainable growth.

Key responsibilities
- Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with company objectives for growth and profitability
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes in collaboration with department heads
- Conduct trend, variance, and scenario analysis to provide actionable insights for business performance
- Manage cash flow, capital allocation, and working capital strategies to support growth initiatives
- Assess and mitigate financial risks in compliance with regulatory standards and internal controls
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to the CEO and board of directors
- Maintain transparent financial reporting and investor relations
- Oversee preparation of accurate financial reports, audits, and compliance requirements
- Build and lead a high-performing finance team, mentoring and driving accountability
- Foster a culture of excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement within the finance function
Experience & skills
- Qualified Chartered Accountant (mandatory), CPA desirable
- 10+ years of progressive financial leadership experience, ideally in FMCG or retail
- Proven experience as Head of Finance, Director of Finance, or similar senior finance role
- Strong understanding of cash flow management, bookkeeping, and bank reconciliation
- Hands-on experience with risk management and compliance
- Advanced knowledge of data analysis, forecasting models, and accounting software
- Strong leadership and decision-making skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
- Track record of managing financial planning and investor relations in high-growth environments
