Job description
The Cyber Security Specialist at Tamara will be based in Dubai and serve as the key cybersecurity liaison for UAE operations. The role is responsible for implementing and managing Tamaraās cybersecurity program, aligned with corporate strategies and local regulatory requirements including those from the CBUAE and UAE IA. The specialist will lead infrastructure enhancements, manage policy frameworks, support code reviews, and enforce CI/CD security controls. Responsibilities include threat modeling, conducting penetration testing, and vulnerability remediation across Tamaraās platform. The candidate must have hands-on cloud security experience (GCP, OCI, AWS), and be familiar with containerization tools like Docker and Kubernetes. Experience with UAE financial sector regulations and knowledge of frameworks such as PCI DSS, ISO 27001, and NIST is essential. The role also involves regulatory audit support, mentoring junior staff, and contributing to continuous security operations improvement. Strong scripting and automation skills (Python, Bash) are also required to streamline security operations.

Key responsibilities
- Act as the primary UAE cybersecurity contact managing local cybersecurity programs, tools, and frameworks
- Assist with infrastructure enhancements in line with Tamara's Cyber Security Strategy
- Serve as point of contact for CBUAE cybersecurity audits and reporting
- Support secure code reviews and CI/CD pipeline security enforcement
- Conduct penetration testing, threat modeling, and vulnerability identification/remediation
- Monitor and respond to cybersecurity events with the SOC and incident response teams
- Support full Cyber Security Risk Management lifecycle in compliance with CBUAE standards
- Manage cybersecurity policy frameworks and ensure compliance with UAE regulations
- Support audit preparation, evidence gathering, and regulatory reporting
- Mentor junior cybersecurity team members and contribute to security training initiatives
Experience & skills
- 2ā4 years of experience in Cyber Security, ideally in application, infrastructure, or DevSecOps
- Proficiency in secure coding, code review, and OWASP Top 10 vulnerabilities mitigation
- Experience in GCP, OCI, or AWS with focus on security hardening and compliance
- Hands-on knowledge of container security using Docker and Kubernetes
- Prior experience in UAE Financial Sector within CBUAE regulated environments
- Understanding of UAE IA standards and other frameworks including SAMA CSF, NCA, ISO 27001, NIST
- Experience in scripting/automation using Python or Bash
- Strong problem-solving skills and collaborative communication style
