Job description
Safeguarding hotel assets, optimising profitability and holding financial controls to a strict standard sit at the heart of this Director of Finance role, as a core member of the Executive Committee. You'll lead the hotel's finance and accounting department, acting as a strategic advisor to the General Manager and the wider Executive Committee. Hotel owners and their representatives deal directly with this role as the primary financial liaison, keeping the Hotel Management Agreement honored on both sides. New business opportunities, revenue optimizations and cost-containment strategies all get identified to push Gross Operating Profit higher. Monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements get prepared accurately and on time, in line with Kempinski guidelines. P&L reviews happen monthly with operational department heads, working through variances and agreeing corrective action together. Budgeting runs through this role too, partnering with the General Manager on the annual operating budget, business plan and CapEx plan. Cash management, liquidity, bank reconciliations and working capital all need ongoing oversight to keep the numbers healthy. Internal financial controls get designed and enforced to protect assets and eliminate fraud risk, with internal and external auditors working directly through this role.
