Job description
The Branch Operation Officer role within BNP Paribas Corporate & Institutional Banking in Dubai is responsible for supporting branch operations by acting as the custodian of clientsâ legal and credit files and managing cash management and instruction management activities for both trade and non-trade transactions. The role focuses on delivering excellent client service by efficiently handling operational requirements while strictly adhering to bank policies, procedures, turnaround times, and permanent control frameworks. Responsibilities span instruction management, transaction processing, document handling, safekeeping of legal and credit files, cash management operations including cheque processing and reconciliations, reporting, and compliance with operational risk and quality management systems. The role also contributes directly to BNP Paribasâ operational permanent control framework, supports continual improvement initiatives, and requires close coordination with internal teams such as back offices, CA team, CTM team, WPS team, ALMT, and other stakeholders, while ensuring accurate processing, archiving, reconciliation, and reporting of all assigned activities.

Key responsibilities
- Manage client instruction processing for both trade and non-trade activities in line with bank procedures and defined turnaround times
- Initiate and relay client transactions to respective back offices using TWIST, TradeAI, and CAT systems
- Scan and forward client documentation to CA team and CTM team for document and credit facility-related activities
- Manage client debit instructions to the WPS team where required
- Safekeep clientsâ legal files and original indemnities related to FAX, WPS, VAT, Trade, GPSSA, and courier activities
- Maintain and safeguard client credit files and related documentation
- Process inward, outward, and transfer cheques including rejected items
- Process manager cheques in local currency and demand drafts in foreign currency
- Process local and foreign currency collection cheques and cheque stop payment requests
- Issue, amend, and cancel standard and non-standard cheque books
- Perform signature verification on client letters and cheques requiring special treatment
- Issue, amend, and cancel capital certificates
- Maintain and reconcile cash margin and suspense accounts
- Manage funds related to stale cheques and dormant accounts and prepare required reports
- Perform daily proofing and reconciliation of clearing, suspense, and internal accounts
- Retrieve, check, file, and archive operational reports and records
- Produce statistical reports related to assigned operational activities
- Perform ORUS daily controls for activities under assigned scope
- Support ALMT with placement of ODF on Saturdays and for fortnight reserve requirements
- Act as backup for team members as instructed by the reporting line manager and support cross-training initiatives
- Contribute to BNP Paribas operational permanent control framework and continuous improvement of quality management systems
Experience & skills
- UAE National with a valid family book
- Bachelorâs degree in a relevant field
- Fresh graduate or up to 2 years of banking experience
- Knowledge of banking systems, banking activities, and bank policies and procedures
- Proficiency in MS Office and Microsoft Excel
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Arabic
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
- Strong client orientation and interaction capabilities
