Job description
The Senior Construction Superintendent ā Mechanical at Wood is responsible for supervising, coordinating, and enforcing all aspects of construction within EPC offshore brownfield upgrade and modification projects in the oil and gas sector. The role requires working closely with the EPC contractor and subcontractors, ensuring adherence to ADNOC Offshore policies regarding safety, quality, and timelines. The superintendent provides input to construction strategies, reviews design and constructability, ensures proper documentation, and coordinates closely with internal teams such as procurement and project controls. Responsibilities also include fabrication oversight, pre-commissioning, change management, construction input for bid estimates, and HSE promotion throughout the project lifecycle. The role demands deep knowledge of offshore project execution, particularly within brownfield environments, and the ability to challenge engineering details to identify efficiencies. The position is based in Abu Dhabi and requires a Bachelorās degree in Mechanical Engineering and at least 15 years of relevant experience, including 5 years in a similar role.

Key responsibilities
- Facilitate and formulate construction supervision, coordination, and administration of EPC construction scope
- Coordinate FEED/EPC contractor from construction through commissioning and handover
- Review and provide input on construction/installation plans and procedures developed by contractors
- Ensure contractor compliance with EPC scope of work and requirements
- Assist and coordinate fabrication works at contractor and subcontractor facilities
- Supervise and inspect contractor work to ensure quality and adherence to ADNOC Offshore policies
- Maintain EPC contractor adherence to safety, quality, and schedule requirements
- Identify construction slippage and recommend corrective actions to the contractor
- Provide input to estimates and review constructability of design documents
- Undertake site visits to support construction development and liaise with contractors
- Identify vendor support, tools, and equipment required for scope implementation
- Coordinate with ADNOC Operations and Project Management Team
- Conduct site surveys and generate reports as required
- Formulate accurate and content-aligned construction deliverables per project procedures
- Assist in bid preparation and development of construction requirements for estimates
- Oversee construction completion procedures and pre-commissioning activities
- Participate in change management and ensure construction readiness reviews are completed
- Coordinate with procurement for timely delivery of materials and equipment
- Work with project controls on progress tracking and completion scheduling
- Promote HSE elements and participate in improvement activities
- Challenge design details to improve cost-effectiveness and reduce hot work where possible
Experience & skills
- Hold a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical
- Have a minimum of 15 years of experience in the oil and gas industry
- Have at least 5 years of experience in a similar senior construction supervision role
- Possess PMC experience on EPC offshore brownfield field production upgrade and modification projects
- Demonstrate thorough knowledge of construction completion procedures and pre-commissioning activities
- Be capable of reviewing engineering designs for constructability and improvement opportunities
- Have working knowledge of ADNOC Offshore standards and procedures
