Job description
Transguard Workforce Solutions is seeking a Category Specialist on a 7-month contract for a leading aviation client in Dubai. The role supports strategic and operational sourcing initiatives, assisting the Category Manager through the sourcing cycle, and handling tactical purchasing with limited supervision. The position is pivotal in ensuring the efficient execution of the sourcing process, preparing RFPs, handling supplier clarifications, and facilitating procurement in line with company policies and systems.

Key responsibilities
- Support Category Managers (L3/L4) in strategic sourcing initiatives by compiling market data and preparing RFP documents
- Collate and manage clarifications from suppliers to ensure an efficient sourcing cycle
- Independently execute tactical sourcing and spot buys for purchases valued up to AED 5,000
- Ensure adherence to purchase request (PR) to purchase order (PO) cycle times and sourcing KPIs
- Negotiate prices and terms with suppliers for tactical purchases, and secure necessary approvals
- Prepare and process finalized contracts and purchase orders according to delegation of authority
- Setup contracts and complex POs in Oracle ERP for strategic initiatives as required
- Release operational sourcing POs and follow up with suppliers to ensure timely delivery
- Contribute to supplier performance evaluation through proper documentation and feedback
Experience & skills
- Bachelorās degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, or a related discipline
- 1ā3 years of relevant experience in procurement, supply chain, or category management
- Hands-on experience with Oracle ERP systems; SAP knowledge is a strong advantage
- Strong command of Microsoft Excel including pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and data formatting
- Basic understanding of procurement KPIs, PR-to-PO cycle times, and sourcing frameworks
- Knowledge of UAE market dynamics and supplier base is a plus
- Ability to handle multiple sourcing activities simultaneously and deliver within tight deadlines
- Experience in handling contract setup, purchase order processing, and tactical negotiations
