Job description
Responsible for preparing and submitting Mashreq Bank Group financial statements in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and local regulations. The role includes coordinating external audits, managing general ledger and head office accounting functions, supporting new product and system implementations, and ensuring alignment with regulatory and internal policy requirements. This position also involves managing the Chart of Accounts, supporting UAE Central Bank compliance, and contributing to the Annual General Meeting deliverables.

Key responsibilities
- Responsible for monthly consolidated group financial statements including quarterly / reviewed financials and annual financials prepared as per IFRS.
- Coordinate with external auditor for Quarterly & Annual Financials for MB Group including audit, regulatory approvals, management letter, publication & printing of Group Annual Report and preparation of related MIS in line with UAE Central Bank guidelines and IFRS.
- Manage accounting functions including maintenance of all accounting records pertaining to Head Office branch and related arrangements & recording of income from other sources.
- Review / analyze new General Ledger (GL) requirements, arrange set up of new GL Accounts in Flexcube and OGL and Inter HO/branches accounts.
- Coordinate/Support in testing of new product development, implementation of new accounting banking systems or upgrades, and other new initiatives.
- Pass transactions & maintain/record of overseas branches Capital/Un-remitted P/L, Additional Reserve and related transfer of funds.
- Prepare working and arrange Head Office Management Fee Certificates from external auditors for overseas branches as per requirement.
- Design formats/prepare specification, test and implement IFRS reporting and consolidation system in UAE & overseas branches.
- Review audit engagement letters and invoices for correctness and arrange for signing.
- Assist in fulfilling Annual General Meeting requirements including Annual Report, Consolidated Financials, Pillar 3, Board presentations, and website publication.
- Assist in functions like APPM preparation, voucher posting, auditor communication, and updating SOPs/flow charts for functions when changes occur.
Experience & skills
- Chartered Accountant (CA), CPA, or ACCA qualification.
- Over 10 years of experience in financial reporting and accounting.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS and its practical application.
- Good system knowledge of core banking applications, especially Flexcube.
