Job description
The Director - Leveraged & Acquisition Finance within Corporate & Investment Banking Group (CIBG) will be part of the transaction team, responsible for originating, structuring, and negotiating leveraged and acquisition finance transactions. The role includes conducting detailed financial, accounting, and market due diligence on prospective borrowers/issuers, analyzing industry reports, rating reports, and debt market trends. The director will work closely with relationship managers, operations, agency, Sharia teams, external legal counsels, and other banks to ensure smooth documentation and disbursement of transactions. Responsibilities include structuring deals that meet client requirements while ensuring bankability, drafting and negotiating term sheets, managing execution of facility agreements, and handling post-closing matters such as covenant compliance and one-off amendments. The role also involves supporting distribution teams in marketing transactions to investors, managing relationships with internal legal, documentation, and risk teams, and supporting origination efforts. Candidates must bring 10–14 years of investment banking or structured finance experience, particularly in multi-bank transactions, with strong credit, legal, and marketing expertise. An MBA or CA qualification is preferred, while CFA is considered an advantage.

- Manage relationships with internal stakeholders and external legal counsels
- Oversee post-closing activities including covenant compliance, client-specific requirements, and amendments
- Support origination team in deal sourcing and structuring efforts
- Maintain awareness of financial products, services, and debt market trends
- Communicate with senior management, risk teams, and operational teams to ensure alignment
Experience & skills
- 10–14 years of experience in investment banking or structured finance
- Proven track record in handling multi-bank transactions
- Strong credit and legal knowledge
- Excellent marketing and communication skills
- Ability to structure and execute complex leveraged and acquisition finance transactions
- Familiarity with facility agreements, covenant compliance, and post-closing transaction management
- Thorough awareness of various financial products and services
- Strong analytical and teamwork skills
- MBA or Chartered Accountant (CA) preferred; CFA is a plus
