Job description
The Vice President β Capital Investments & Financing within Aldar Corporate Finance and Treasury in Abu Dhabi is responsible for managing critical functions relating to investment analysis, capital allocation, and execution of strategic company initiatives, while providing leadership and support to the team in financial planning and analysis. The role emphasizes a structured approach to all investment evaluations, generating fully transparent information to management and identifying key risk drivers from feasibility models and commercial considerations. The incumbent executes periodic reviews of group return hurdles and cost of capital, contributes data-driven recommendations for strategic objectives, and supports credit analysis and interactions with rating agencies. The VP plays a key role in strategic initiatives including M&A transactions and third-party capital raises (equity and debt), manages pre-IC appraisals, liaises with counterparties and advisors, and consolidates departmental inputs for 5-year financial planning. The role requires technical proficiency in Bloomberg, advanced Excel financial modeling, including DCF/DDM, real estate modeling, merger modeling, and analysis of public trading comparables and precedent transactions. Strong project management, presentation, and communication skills, as well as leadership and conflict resolution capabilities, are essential. The position targets UAE Nationals and requires extensive experience in project financial structuring and complex financing in capital-intensive industries, with an understanding of MENA markets and funding mechanisms.

Key responsibilities
- Perform rigorous financial analysis, sensitivity analysis, and review investment proposals across business lines ensuring compliance with Investment Framework policies
- Support adoption of structured approach to investment evaluations, generating fully transparent information for management decision-making
- Identify key risk drivers of financial underwriting and assess commercial considerations of proposed transactions
- Execute periodic reviews of group return hurdles and cost of capital, and contribute data-driven recommendations regarding strategic capital allocation and planning decisions
- Perform ad-hoc credit analysis and provide support in dealing with credit rating agencies
- Originate and support strategic company initiatives including mergers and acquisitions, third-party equity and debt capital raising, and strategic investment appraisals
- Manage preparation of pre-IC appraisals, aligning with relevant stakeholders, and contribute to Investment Committee decision-making processes
- Execute live transactions, manage transaction processes, and liaise with counterparties, advisors, and internal teams
- Consolidate inputs from various departments for 5-year financial planning, assess the quality of planning and its components, and provide financial outputs of consolidated business plans
- Maintain and improve detailed corporate financial models to support planning, analysis, and decision-making
- Lead, mentor, and coordinate with the finance and treasury team to ensure high-quality financial planning, analysis, and execution of strategic initiatives
Experience & skills
- Minimum 10+ years of experience in financial management, strategic finance, capital management, or investment roles within a publicly listed company with annual revenue of at least AED 3 billion
- Minimum 2+ years in a managerial position overseeing strategic finance or investment teams
- Prior experience in project financial structuring and complex financing schemes in capital-intensive industries
- Strong understanding of MENA markets and regional funding mechanisms
- Technical proficiency in Bloomberg and Excel financial modeling including DCF/DDM, real estate modeling, merger modeling, and analysis of public trading comparables and precedent transactions
- Strong project management, presentation, and communication skills with initiative to lead execution work
- Ability to plan, execute, and manage tasks according to project schedules and budgets, including conflict resolution and team coordination
- Bachelorβs degree in Finance, Economics, or Business; MBA or Master in Finance from a top-ranked school preferred
- Professional qualification such as CFA is required
