Job description
The Manager, Partner Engineering at Checkout.com in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, is a full-time, senior technical role within the Payments and eCommerce Integrations domain, focused on managing partner-facing technical relationships and providing expert guidance on platform integrations across EMEA. This role is central to onboarding, integrating, and supporting SMB-focused partners, including Shopify, WooCommerce, Adobe Commerce, Prestashop, OpenCart, and VisualSoft, as well as providing technical leadership to merchants using these platforms. The Manager acts as the primary technical liaison between partners and internal teams, including Partnerships, Product, Engineering, and Implementation Engineering, guiding partners through technical discovery, System Integrator selection, drafting Statements of Work (SOWs), and overall technical project management. The role encompasses end-to-end management of the partner integration lifecycle, from debugging and UAT testing to code review, while providing input to partnership and product teams on technology trends, integration gaps, and platform product roadmaps. The position requires development experience in frontend and backend technologies, familiarity with API-based integration methods, and exposure to DevOps from both technical and customer solutions perspectives. The role demands excellent communication skills to explain high-level takeaways and deep technical details, strong organizational skills to prioritize shifting workloads, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth fintech environment. The Manager contributes to the technical success of integrations, ensures alignment with product and partner objectives, and acts as an internal and external technical evangelist for platform partners, helping to drive Checkout.com’s mission to deliver seamless payment experiences worldwide.

- Provide subject matter expertise on supported eCommerce and subscription management platforms, assist merchants with RFPs and technical inquiries, and act as the escalation point for routing issues to partner technical contacts.
- Provide input to partnership and product teams on technology trends, integration gaps, potential feature improvements, and platform product roadmaps, influencing strategic decisions for platform integrations.
- Build and maintain integrations into partner tech stacks, including APIs, ensuring high-quality implementation, debugging, and UAT testing, as well as performing detailed code reviews.
- Act as a technical evangelist for platform partners internally and externally, promoting best practices and supporting knowledge-sharing across teams.
- Provide hands-on support to merchants and partners to resolve integration challenges, maintain documentation, and ensure adherence to technical standards and timelines.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with product, engineering, partnerships, and implementation teams to align on integration objectives, streamline onboarding processes, and ensure successful go-live of new integrations.
