Job description
A leading food manufacturer in Abu Dhabi produces nutritious, high-quality products for pets, and this General Accountant role sits within its Finance & Operations team keeping the numbers behind that production accurate. You will oversee the full spectrum of accounting functions in a manufacturing environment, managing financial records in QuickBooks, preparing monthly reports for management, recording transactions with precision, and supporting budgeting efforts. Cost of sales gets calculated by analysing ingredient usage and production data, while inventory movement is tracked from raw materials through finished goods using FIFO principles. Collaboration with production teams keeps stock verification accurate and helps surface areas for cost reduction or tighter control. Advanced Excel skills come into play building reporting tools that simplify complex workflows, including pivot tables, formulas, trackers, and dashboards. Automating routine tasks and maintaining clear documentation for adjustments or discrepancies adds to overall operational transparency. Monthly financial statements such as profit and loss reports, balance sheets, and cash flow statements get prepared alongside support for budgeting, forecasting, and year-end closing procedures. Payroll processing, invoice recording, and purchase order entries round out the day-to-day accounting workload, with timely insights into margin performance feeding into decisions across the organisation.

- Coordinate with production and operations teams to verify stock usage and output, flagging shortages or overstocking risks
