Job description
The Business Analyst β Strategic Initiatives role sits within Amazon Now (Quick Commerce) β MENA, supporting rapid-delivery grocery and convenience operations across the Middle East and North Africa. The role partners closely with regional stakeholders across Operations, Supply Chain, Vendor Management, Instock, Pricing, Marketing, and Last-Mile Delivery to deliver best-in-class customer experience in ultra-fast commerce. The position focuses on performing deep-dive analyses to identify root causes of operational inefficiencies, developing data-backed recommendations, and building operational dashboards and reporting mechanisms that allow leadership to monitor performance in near real time. The role supports short-term and mid-term forecasting and capacity planning to ensure service-level targets are achieved while balancing cost and operational efficiency. The analyst works with regional and country teams to ensure data accuracy, surface performance trends, maintain data quality and consistency, standardize metric definitions, and drive continuous improvement initiatives across Amazon Now markets. The role involves extensive use of SQL or ETL, Microsoft Excel including VBA, pivot tables, array functions and power pivots, Tableau and other data visualization tools, data mining on large datasets, operational performance measurement, business intelligence, and process optimization within a fast-paced quick commerce operating model.

Key responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain operational dashboards and reporting to track core Quick Commerce metrics including service levels, speed, efficiency, and capacity utilization
- Support short-term and mid-term planning and forecasting for demand, capacity, and operational resources
- Drive visibility into actual versus expected performance to enable real-time and retrospective performance management
- Monitor and analyze efficiency and quality metrics across stores, regions, and countries
- Conduct root-cause analyses on performance gaps and operational misses and quantify business impact
- Partner with Operations Managers, Program Managers, and central teams to support business reviews, WBRs, and deep dives
- Communicate analytical insights to senior stakeholders through executive-ready narratives and recommendations
- Ensure data quality, consistency, and standardized metric definitions across reporting and analytical outputs
- Identify trends and risks that may impact customer experience, delivery speed, or cost structures
- Develop and recommend process optimization and efficiency improvements across the Amazon Now operating model
- Work autonomously in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple analytical priorities and timelines
Experience & skills
- Hold a Bachelorβs degree or equivalent in Business, Economics, Analytics, or a related field
- Demonstrate experience with SQL or ETL for data extraction and analysis
- Exhibit strong experience in Microsoft Excel including VBA, pivot tables, array functions, and power pivots
- Show experience using data visualization tools such as Tableau
- Have experience measuring operational metrics including order cycle time, ship estimate accuracy, on-time and complete shipment, and inventory record defect rate
- Possess experience in data mining on large datasets
- Bring prior experience in a business analyst, data analyst, or similar analytical role including internships
- Demonstrate advanced SQL usage for data mining and business intelligence or experience improving, automating, standardizing, or simplifying finance or business tools and processes
