Job description
As a Technical Operations Manager at Google, you will manage third-party data center operations in the MENA region, ensuring optimal performance of mechanical, electrical, and IT infrastructure. The role involves site selection input, operational risk analysis, and full accountability for managing facility operations within an assigned area. This position requires collaboration with internal engineering, hardware, and network teams, as well as third-party vendors, with a focus on reliability, maintainability, and strategic alignment. Fluency in Arabic and experience in data center environments are strong advantages.

Key responsibilities
- Support the site selection process through operational and technical knowledge.
- Perform operational assessments and risk analyses of third-party colocation sites.
- Own and manage colocation site facility operations within a regional area.
- Maintain accountability for both tactical and strategic execution in assigned facilities.
- Keep stakeholders informed and aligned on ongoing work, decisions, and direction.
- Contribute to broader operational strategy and influence local group strategies.
- Ensure reliability and maintainability standards are embedded in all infrastructure and vendor operations.
- Collaborate with Google’s internal teams and external data center vendors to meet operational goals.
Experience & skills
- Associate's degree, trade school certification, or other certified training in a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 7 years of experience in operations and facilities management.
- Experience in Critical Facility Operation Management.
- Experience working in data center environments including infrastructure operations.
- Experience initiating and executing initiatives in global settings.
- Ability to perform operational assessment and risk analysis of third-party sites.
- Ability to forecast resource needs in a data-driven way.
- Fluent communication in Arabic for client relationship management in the region.
- Strong problem-solving skills and stakeholder communication abilities.
