Job description
A senior-level position responsible for developing and implementing environmental and sustainability strategies across a major port and infrastructure cluster. The role involves ensuring compliance with environmental laws, maintaining ISO certifications, leading sustainability initiatives such as decarbonization and waste reduction, and integrating climate considerations into all phases of project development. Based in Abu Dhabi, this is a strategic and technical leadership role driving ESG excellence.

Key responsibilities
- Lead development and enforcement of environmental strategies aligned with regulations and ESG goals
- Set and oversee implementation of KPIs and green initiatives
- Maintain ISO 14001 certification and resolve third-party audit findings
- Develop and implement thematic sustainability strategies (e.g., decarbonization, waste, monitoring)
- Ensure compliance with environmental laws and standards
- Integrate sustainability into infrastructure and capital projects
- Guide environmental assessments and reports
- Oversee waste management with a focus on recycling and reuse
- Minimize environmental impact of operations and construction
- Promote innovation in sustainability practices
Experience & skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science/Engineering or related
- 8–10 years’ experience in environment/climate roles
- Experience in infrastructure, industrial, or maritime sectors
- Master’s degree or certifications (ISO 14001, GHG Protocol, LEED) preferred
- Strong leadership and cross-functional coordination skills
- Expertise in climate action and environmental assessments
- Fluency in English
