Job description
The Senior School Arabic Teacher (First Language) at the DQ Campus of The British International School Riyadh (BISR) delivers high-quality teaching for students aged 11-18 within the English National Curriculum. The role involves designing stimulating learning environments, delivering innovative and creative classroom practice, and supporting holistic student development including pastoral care and well-being. The teacher applies Assessment for Learning strategies, monitors student progress, differentiates instruction for diverse learning needs including highly able students, and contributes to curriculum development and co-curricular programmes. The role requires adherence to the schoolâs mission, vision, and strategic pillars of learning, enrichment, and well-being, fostering an inclusive and intercultural environment. BISR is accredited by CIS and BSO and is a member of multiple British international school associations, with the DQ campus also offering the IB Diploma Programme. Teachers at BISR are expected to actively contribute to student leadership, service learning, residential trips, and the broader co-curricular life of the school.

Key responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality Arabic first language teaching for students aged 11-18 in line with the English National Curriculum
- Create a positive classroom climate that supports holistic student development and well-being
- Apply effective assessment and feedback strategies to ensure student progress
- Plan and differentiate lessons for diverse learning needs including highly able students and second language learners
- Contribute to curriculum development, monitoring, and assessment practices
- Serve as Form Tutor to support studentsâ social, emotional, and academic well-being
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance teaching practice and participate in co-curricular and community activities
- Maintain a high standard of professional conduct aligned with the schoolâs mission, vision, and REACH motto
- Participate in safeguarding and child protection practices in accordance with school policy
Experience & skills
- Hold a UK or UK-recognised teaching qualification (PGCE or B.Ed)
- Demonstrate 2 or more years of teaching experience, preferably in secondary education
- Experience with positive behavior management strategies
- Experience planning for diverse learning needs including highly able students
- Knowledge of the English National Curriculum and ability to create a stimulating learning environment
- Effective organizational and time management skills for lesson planning and evaluation
- Good ICT skills and understanding of Assessment for Learning strategies
- Ability to communicate effectively with pupils, parents, and colleagues
- Commitment to co-curricular activities and staff professional development
