Job description
Provides support for the analysis and evaluation of the implementation of Environmental Management Plans at OQ8 under TL Environmental scope. Acts as a team player through implementing and monitoring compliance with environmental policies and international best practices, assisting with environmental analysis and protection activities, assessing application of environmental policies in operations, and ensuring proper management of biodiversity offset sites. The role contributes to meeting departmental objectives, ensuring continuous improvement, and alignment with OQ8ās mission, HSE standards, Omani legal requirements, and international practices.

Key responsibilities
- Ensure implementation of the annual Assurance Plan aligned with the OQ8 business plan and HSE strategy
- Evaluate and analyze progress in the implementation of Environmental Management Plans of DRIPC
- Consult with contractors on the design and construction of biodiversity offset sites
- Conduct site visits and assess construction progress of offset sites
- Engage stakeholders and experts for baseline surveys
- Design and implement methodology to assess effectiveness of offset sites
- Consult with stakeholders on Biodiversity Action Plan implementation
- Deliver environmental awareness sessions on biodiversity offset sites
- Prepare reports on BAP implementation progress and offset site conditions
- Participate in and lead environmental assurance activities such as audits and inspections
- Analyze data from environmental inspections and follow up on outstanding issues
- Participate in environmental incident investigations and recommend preventive actions
- Review Environmental Impact Assessments to ensure compliance with policies and standards
- Recommend improvements to environmental processes and procedures
- Analyze and recommend system process and workflow improvements
- Develop environmental reports as required by the department
Experience & skills
- Bachelorās degree in environment, conservation, engineering, or equivalent
- 5ā8+ years of relevant experience in biodiversity management and field surveys
- Knowledge of HSSE fundamentals and occupational health & safety
- Experience in HSSE audits
- Knowledge of risk management methods and practices
- Understanding of Omani and International Environmental Standards and regulations
- Familiarity with IFC Performance Standards and Equator Principles
- Computer literacy including MS Office
- Ability to advise and direct environmental processes in refining/petrochemical operations
- Excellent written and spoken English
