Job description
As a Senior Field Service Engineer at ABB, you will execute service work of medium to high complexity on System 800xA-based Infi90/Symphony Plus systems, delivering superior customer service and system performance. You will identify opportunities to optimize installed systems, mentor technicians, and support multidisciplinary projects within the Oil & Gas, Power, and Water industries.
Required skills

Control system installation, commissioning, and maintenance
Industrial networking and switch configuration
Cybersecurity audits, assessments, and implementations for control systems
Industrial communication protocols (Modbus RTU/TCP, OPC, etc.)
Project execution and service work planning
Customer support, technical training, and mentoring
Multidisciplinary collaboration across service and project teams
Analytical problem solving and technical validation of solutions
Adaptability to offshore and complex site environments
Key responsibilities
- Plan and execute service work to meet customer expectations and orders
- Ensure customer retention by delivering superior service and communication
- Identify new service business opportunities and coordinate with ABB teams
- Translate high-complexity project requirements into ABB technical solutions
- Coach and supervise technicians and engineers during complex site activities
- Provide multidisciplinary support in service and major projects
- Render technical validation of design solutions in medium and complex projects
- Work with industrial networking, communication protocols, and cybersecurity solutions
- Provide customer training and support offshore installed bases
Experience & skills
- Minimum 8 years of experience, with at least 5 years in customer support, project, or service engineering for System 800xA/Infi90/Symphony Plus systems
- Hands-on experience with system installation, maintenance, and application development
- Experience with industrial networking, network switch configuration, and cybersecurity
- Analytical thinker, self-starter, resilient, and highly adaptable
- Ability to work under pressure and use own initiative in complex environments
- Experience delivering training to customers and mentoring team members
- Familiarity with industrial communication protocols such as Modbus RTU/TCP and OPC
