Job description
The Senior Manager Business Support & Financial Control provides strategic and operational financial leadership across Qatar Airways MRO operations. This role bridges finance with operational teams to ensure alignment between business objectives and financial planning, covering Engine operations, Workshops, Heavy Maintenance, and Line Maintenance. The role involves developing long-term financial frameworks, driving major MRO investments, and leading a high-performing team to support the airlineās MRO 2030 and 2040 vision.

Key responsibilities
- Develop multi-year financial plans (5ā10 years) to support long-term MRO objectives.
- Provide financial advisory to CFO, senior leadership, and CMROO management team.
- Lead business case development for major MRO investments, including capital planning, cost modelling, and financial impact assessment.
- Deliver accurate monthly and quarterly performance reporting, KPI tracking, variance analysis, and sensitivity analysis.
- Identify financial risks and opportunities within MRO cost centres and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Partner with MRO operations to ensure financial plans align with operational needs (Engine operations, Heavy Checks, C-Checks, Line Maintenance).
- Participate in long-range planning for MRO growth (2030 and 2040 vision).
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Analysts and Managers, fostering accountability and continuous improvement.
- Strengthen stakeholder relationships across Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, and Group Finance.
- Drive process optimization, financial model restructuring, and efficiency improvements.
Experience & skills
- Bachelorās degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
- 10+ years of business finance experience; airline industry experience mandatory.
- Proven expertise in business finance partnering, business case development, and multi-year budget planning.
- Strong analytical and accounting skills, with ability to interpret operational cycles and P&L impacts.
- Experience managing finance within tight reporting timelines with high accuracy.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills in English.
- Preferred: experience in Technical Accounting and MRO/Engineering finance modelling.
- Demonstrated leadership and team development capabilities.
