Job description
The Vendor Manager, Global Retail Imports (12-month fixed term contract) within Amazonās International Expansions team is responsible for enabling and optimizing cross-border import supply chains from global vendors into emerging markets. The role focuses on managing the end-to-end import flow from manufacturers to Amazon Fulfillment Centers, ensuring product availability, cost efficiency, and strong customer experience. The Vendor Manager works closely with global and local vendor management teams to develop inventory strategies, improve vendor performance, and support expansion into new countries. The role requires strong stakeholder management across international teams, vendor partners, and internal Amazon functions. Key responsibilities include educating vendors on new market opportunities, building relationships with senior vendor leadership, integrating new vendors into Amazon systems and compliance processes, and ensuring alignment with contractual and operational standards. The position involves monitoring and analyzing key performance indicators such as vendor import share, out-of-stock rates, and operational metrics while driving process improvements and cost savings initiatives. The role requires financial analysis capability and P&L ownership, along with experience in vendor negotiations, pricing, promotions, and inventory optimization. The Vendor Manager also leads projects and business improvement initiatives, ensuring a reliable and efficient flow of goods across global supply chain networks while working in a fast-paced, ambiguous, and data-driven environment.

- Manage import supply chain processes from manufacturer to Amazon Fulfillment Centers
- Develop and implement inventory management strategies to optimize customer experience
- Build and maintain relationships with senior vendor leadership to support import business growth
- Educate vendors on new country expansion opportunities
- Support integration of new vendors into Amazon supply chain, compliance, and merchandising systems
- Monitor and analyze KPIs including vendor import share, out-of-stock rates, and operational metrics
- Drive cost savings initiatives and improve selection availability in emerging markets
- Coordinate with global and local vendor managers to align business and contractual requirements
- Conduct financial analysis and support P&L ownership activities

Experience & skills
- 5+ years of experience in retail, operations, product/program management, or consulting roles
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional/military experience
- 3+ years of Excel experience
- Experience with financial analysis and P&L ownership
- Experience in vendor negotiations and relationship management
- Experience managing large datasets for performance and process improvement
- Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills
- Experience in inventory management, pricing, and promotion strategies
- Ability to work in fast-paced and ambiguous environments
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
