Job description
The Escrow Support Officer at Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank (ADIB) is responsible for managing and processing escrow operations and customer inquiries in strict adherence to UAE real estate regulatory frameworks. Based in Dubai, the role ensures full compliance with RERA, Abu Dhabi Municipality, RAK, and other regulatory authorities governing real estate escrow activities. The officer manages account opening, maintenance, reconciliation, reporting, and closure processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with both regulatory mandates and internal banking policies. This role includes handling escrow inflows and outflows, maintaining MIS and reconciliation records, processing payment requests, monitoring expired guarantees, and ensuring that TAS (Trust Account System) updates are accurate and timely. The incumbent collaborates closely with internal teams such as Business, Operations, Engineering, and Account Opening units, as well as with external bodies like RERA and DMAT. The officer supports audits, control testing, business continuity management (BCM) activities, and participates in UAT/BAT trials for new product and process implementations. The role also involves preparing SWIFT messages as requested by developers, managing customer interactions, ensuring service delivery within KPIs, and implementing process improvements. A strong understanding of UAE escrow lawsâRERA Law No. 8 of 2007, OA Law No. 6 of 2019, and DMAT Law No. 3 of 2015âis essential, along with certifications in RERA Escrow Account Project Trustee and Trust Account System. The ideal candidate will demonstrate organizational excellence, customer focus, regulatory expertise, and operational accuracy in managing end-to-end escrow functions across multiple Emirates.

Key responsibilities
- Handle all escrow activities including inflows, outflows, audits, and reporting in full compliance with RERA, Abu Dhabi Municipality, and other regulators
- Manage end-to-end account opening, maintenance, and closure processes for escrow accounts in coordination with business and account opening teams
- Ensure regulatory approvals are obtained and maintain compliance with relevant Escrow Account Management SOPs
- Review payment requests and liaise with Bank Engineers, Operations, or Business teams for approval and execution
- Maintain MIS and reconciliation records for escrow operations, ensuring data accuracy and completeness
- Update guarantee records, follow up on expired guarantees, and prepare SWIFT messages per developer requests
- Ensure all transactions are accurately recorded in the TAS (Trust Account System) for inflows and outflows within KPI timelines
- Coordinate internal reporting requirements, audits, control testing, and quality checks related to escrow accounts
- Support the Escrow Services Team Lead and Head in daily operations and compliance reviews
- Handle inquiries and issues from customers and developers while maintaining close contact with RERA for approvals and issue resolution
- Participate in user acceptance testing (UAT), business acceptance testing (BAT), and product trials to validate process and system enhancements
- Assist in BCM (Business Continuity Management) activities to ensure process resilience and compliance readiness
- Identify opportunities for operational improvement and propose process enhancements aligned with banking standards
- Adhere to institutional policies, procedures, and regulatory frameworks governing escrow operations
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure consistent compliance, accuracy, and quality in service delivery
Experience & skills
- 4â5 years of experience in escrow regulatory operations or banking within the UAE real estate sector
- Comprehensive knowledge of RERA, OA, DMAT, ARRA, and RAKIA escrow regulations
- Certification from RERA in Escrow Account Project Trustee Course
- Certification from RERA in Trust Account System
- Strong organizational, planning, and problem-solving skills
- Proven experience handling escrow account operations, payments, and reconciliations
- Proficiency with TAS (Trust Account System) and SWIFT messaging
- Familiarity with local UAE market practices and banking standards within escrow frameworks
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and presentation abilities
- Ability to coordinate with regulatory authorities and internal teams effectively
- Experience supporting audits, compliance testing, and operational reviews
- Strong customer handling and communication skills with cultural adaptability
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple concurrent priorities while maintaining attention to detail
- Fluency in English; Arabic proficiency preferred
