Job description
Offshore platforms, wellhead facilities, and central processing infrastructure across the Middle East all depend on sound material selection and corrosion control, and that responsibility sits with you as Senior Materials & Corrosion Engineer at KBR. FEED, Pre-FEED, and Detailed Engineering Design phases for oil and gas projects all pass through your technical leadership, covering everything from material selection philosophies to corrosion control strategies and specifications. Material Selection Reports, Corrosion Control Manuals, Material Adequacy Checks, and Cathodic Protection scopes of work get prepared under your direction, alongside corrosion rate modelling using recognized software such as ECE. NACE MR0175/ISO 15156 and MR0103/ISO 17495-1 shape the standards you apply daily, alongside API, ISO, ASME, and other relevant codes. Process, piping, mechanical, and multi-discipline interfaces need integrating too, with static and rotating equipment datasheets, piping material specifications, and P&IDs all receiving your materials and corrosion input. You participate in offshore and onshore site visits for data collection and condition assessments, and process safety studies including HAZID and HAZOP draw on the same expertise. Engineers get mentored along the way, and quality and schedule adherence stay a constant focus across every project phase. Clients, vendors, and third party stakeholders all interface with you directly, since technical issues on greenfield and brownfield developments rarely resolve themselves.
