Job description
The Assistant Manager Contracting Relationship Management at QNB (Corporate Banking & Financial Institutions, Qatar) provides relationship management support to Contracting customers and effective operational support to the Contracting function. The role proactively assists in managing client relationships within delegated authority, prepares comprehensive credit proposals for new and existing corporate customers, and maintains all Contracting documentation in line with QNB credit policies and procedures. Responsibilities span monitoring and achieving KPIs, promoting cost efficiency, and acting within delegated powers; performing credit documentation in coordination with Credit Risk; providing timely and accurate information to internal/external auditors and the Compliance function; handling customer queries on bank products; and maintaining activities per SLAs to improve turnaround times. The incumbent develops and manages a day-to-day pipeline of target names and assigned portfolios, maintains high documentation standards, obtains and validates all requisite facility and account documentation (including Articles of Association and amendments, minimum 3 yearsâ financial statements, company annual report where applicable, Commercial Registration, authorized signatories, corporate client details, and full credit request details), and ensures timely review of contracting credit applications in coordination with Credit Risk. The role prepares annual credit reviews, identifies changing circumstances and early warning signals, organizes and maintains corporate banking customer files, monitors Contracting credit positions for compliance with limits and Investment and Credit Strategy, and supports periodic Management and Business Information reporting to senior leadership. Technical tasks include spreading financial statements using assigned software, assessing credit risk, drafting financial analyses to evaluate performance and repayment capacity, and maintaining accurate Contracting records. The role demands thorough knowledge of corporate banking products, documentation, regulatory requirements, and controls; strict compliance with legal, regulatory, and internal policies (AML & CTF, Sanctions, Data Protection, Fraud Control, Whistle Blowing, Conflict of Interest, Insider Dealing); operation under the Three Lines of Defence; ensuring client good outcomes per Conduct Risk policy; and supporting Operational Risk frameworks (RCSA, KRI, Incident reporting and remediation). High standards of data protection and confidentiality are mandatory, as is maintaining QNBâs professional reputation. The position requires a bachelorâs degree (preferably Engineering), a minimum of 4 yearsâ banking experience (local/Gulf preferred), market awareness, strong credit documentation skills, understanding of relevant laws/regulations, knowledge of financial statements and ratios relevant to corporate banking and the contracting industry, a general understanding of construction financing mechanisms and risks, English fluency with Arabic preferred, integrity, self-management, problem solving, planning/organizing, analytical ability, customer service orientation, and strong performance orientation.

Key responsibilities
- Assist in managing assigned Contracting client relationships within delegated authority and support achievement of financial and non-financial targets
- Prepare comprehensive credit proposals for new and existing customers addressing all relevant risk factors per QNB corporate credit standards
- Obtain, verify, and maintain complete facility and account documentation (Articles of Association, financial statements for minimum 3 years, annual reports, Commercial Registration, authorized signatories, corporate details, credit request and amount)
- Perform credit documentation for the Contracting function in accordance with policies and in coordination with Credit Risk
- Review contracting credit applications and documents within set turnaround times and identify changing circumstances with mitigating actions during annual reviews
- Monitor Contracting credit positions for full compliance with limits and Investment and Credit Strategy
- Develop and manage day-to-day target corporate names and assigned portfolio to meet KPIs while upholding documentation best practices
- Provide timely/accurate data to internal/external Auditors, Compliance, Financial Control, and Risk as required
- Maintain Contracting records and organize corporate banking customer files to governance and audit standards
- Spread financial statements using assigned software, assess credit risk, and draft financial analyses to evaluate performance and repayment capacity
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal departments/units to meet SLAs and improve turnaround time
- Support preparation of periodic Management and Business Information reports for senior leadership on unit performance and client portfolio
- Act within delegated powers, promote cost consciousness and productivity, and support best practices and KPIs for the role
- Ensure strict compliance with AML & CTF, Sanctions, Data Protection, Fraud Control, Whistle Blowing, Conflict of Interest, and Insider Dealing policies
- Operate under the Three Lines of Defence, support RCSA, KRI, incident reporting and remediation, and ensure good client outcomes under Conduct Risk policy

Experience & skills
- Hold a university bachelorâs degree (preferably Engineering) with a minimum of 4 yearsâ banking industry experience (local/Gulf experience preferred)
- Be well-informed on market competitive structure, industry practices, and regulations for the corporate banking client segment
- Demonstrate strong credit documentation skills and awareness of risk management concepts and practices
- Possess good knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and practices pertaining to corporate banking products
- Show good knowledge of financial statements and ratios relevant to corporate banking and the contracting industry
- Exhibit a general understanding of construction financing mechanisms and underlying risks
- Demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills in English; Arabic preferred
