The AI Team Lead / AI Technical Manager (AI Agents & LLM Systems) at Lucidya in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia is responsible for leading the vision, architecture, and execution of a next-generation AI Agent platform designed for scalable customer service applications. The role operates within an artificial intelligence and SaaS environment, focusing on building a fully scalable AI Agent platform from scratch in a zero-to-one development setting. The position requires deep expertise in AI Agents, LLM-based systems, machine learning, deep learning, and production AI systems, including model training, deployment, and evaluation. The role involves designing scalable systems architecture and managing AI infrastructure to support enterprise-grade applications and aggressive growth targets such as achieving approximately $1M ARR. The AI Team Lead collaborates closely with executive leadership including CEO, CTO, and General Manager, aligning product strategy and technical delivery. The role includes building and managing MLOps pipelines, conducting LLM evaluation, and leveraging cloud computing platforms such as AWS and Google Cloud Platform (GCP). Responsibilities include managing multiple client engagements, delivering SaaS platforms for customer service AI, and ensuring high performance and scalability of AI solutions. The position requires leadership of AI/ML engineering teams, mentoring engineers, and establishing workflows, processes, and reusable AI services. The role also involves translating complex AI concepts into actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders, driving stakeholder alignment, and shaping a new AI-focused business line. The candidate is expected to thrive in ambiguous, fast-paced environments, create structured execution models, and contribute to building a strong engineering culture while delivering high-impact AI solutions across the region.

Key responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and deployment of a scalable AI Agent platform by defining system architecture, implementing LLM-based systems, and ensuring performance, scalability, and reliability for enterprise customer service AI use cases
- Manage and grow AI infrastructure by leveraging cloud computing platforms such as AWS and Google Cloud Platform (GCP), building MLOps pipelines, and optimizing production AI systems for scalability and efficiency
- Oversee and mentor a team of AI/ML engineers by establishing workflows, developing reusable AI services, and ensuring high-quality model training, deployment, and evaluation practices
- Drive execution of multiple client engagements simultaneously by delivering SaaS platforms, ensuring successful implementation of AI Agents, and meeting revenue and growth targets including ARR objectives
- Develop and align AI strategy with executive leadership including CEO, CTO, and General Manager by translating business requirements into technical roadmaps and influencing decision-making through data-driven insights
- Conduct LLM evaluation, model performance analysis, and continuous improvement of AI systems while ensuring robustness, accuracy, and alignment with customer service requirements
- Establish processes, operating rhythms, and collaboration models across engineering, product, and leadership teams to bring structure to ambiguous, fast-paced environments
- Communicate complex AI concepts and system architectures clearly to non-technical stakeholders while ensuring cross-functional alignment and successful delivery of high-impact AI solutions
Experience & skills
- Possess at least 6+ years of experience in AI/ML engineering with a minimum of 3 years in leadership roles managing AI/ML teams and delivering production AI systems
- Demonstrate strong hands-on expertise in building AI Agents and LLM-based systems including model training, deployment, and evaluation in real-world applications
- Exhibit advanced proficiency in Python and modern machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow and PyTorch for developing scalable AI solutions
- Have experience designing and managing MLOps pipelines, LLM evaluation processes, and production AI systems within cloud computing environments such as AWS and Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
- Demonstrate experience working with SaaS platforms, preferably in customer service AI, with the ability to build scalable, revenue-generating products from zero-to-one
- Show strong expertise in scalable systems architecture and AI infrastructure management to support enterprise-level deployments and high-performance requirements
- Hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or related fields, with strong emphasis on hands-on experience
- Demonstrate ability to manage ambiguity, lead cross-functional teams, align with executive stakeholders, and deliver high-impact AI solutions in fast-paced environments
