Job description
The Project Manager will lead and oversee large-scale construction projects across Dubai and Abu Dhabi, including industrial facilities, warehouses, cold stores, factories, steel structures, high-rise, low-rise buildings, and villas. The role is responsible for full project lifecycle management, ensuring delivery within approved scope, budget, timeline, and quality standards. The Project Manager will coordinate with consultants, contractors, government authorities, and stakeholders while maintaining strict compliance with contractual, regulatory, safety, and quality requirements. This position requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and extensive UAE/GCC project experience to successfully manage complex construction operations.
Required skills
Key responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day operations of large-scale building and industrial construction projects, ensuring seamless coordination of site activities and adherence to approved plans and specifications.
- Establish and implement project baselines, monitor performance against cost, schedule, and quality targets, and take corrective actions to prevent time overruns and budget deviations.
- Coordinate effectively with clients, architects, consultants, contractors, subcontractors, and stakeholders to define technical requirements, secure approvals, and ensure timely project execution.
- Liaise with government and regulatory authorities to obtain required permits, statutory clearances, and project-related approvals in compliance with UAE regulations.
- Monitor and control project expenditures, verify invoices and contractor claims, and ensure financial accuracy and cost optimization throughout the project lifecycle.
- Lead multidisciplinary project teams, ensuring proper manpower deployment, resource allocation, and performance management to achieve project milestones.
- Develop and manage detailed project schedules using Primavera or MS Project, track progress, and submit periodic reports to senior management on status, risks, and performance metrics.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks; manage scope changes, ensure proper documentation of variations, and maintain updated technical reports and records.
- Conduct and participate in project review meetings, escalate critical issues to management, and drive timely resolution to maintain project timelines.
- Ensure compliance with Quality Management Systems (QMS) and Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) policies, actively participating in audits and ensuring timely closure of audit findings.
Experience & skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized institution.
- 14 years of total construction experience, with at least 10 years managing industrial projects such as warehouses, cold stores, factories, and steel structure developments within the UAE or GCC.
- Strong knowledge of standard contract conditions including FIDIC, JCT, and government contracts, with demonstrated experience in contract administration and claims management.
- Professional certification such as PMP (Project Management Professional) or equivalent is preferred.
- Proficiency in project planning and scheduling tools such as Primavera and MS Project, along with strong computer literacy.
- Proven expertise in cost control, budget management, invoice verification, and financial oversight of large-scale construction projects.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to coordinate effectively across multicultural teams and regulatory bodies.
- Solid understanding of UAE construction regulations, statutory approval processes, and compliance requirements.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Quality Management Systems (QMS) and Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) standards, with commitment to maintaining high safety and quality benchmarks on-site.
