Job description
Al-Futtaim Group is seeking a Senior Manager - Interior Design to lead and deliver design scope for high-profile residential, commercial, hospitality, and mixed-use projects within its real estate portfolio. Acting as the client representative, the role ensures that interior spaces meet design quality, functional needs, and innovation standards while balancing commercial objectives, program, and budget. The Senior Design Manager oversees the full design lifecycle from feasibility and concept through to construction, driving collaboration between architects, consultants, contractors, and internal stakeholders. The role embeds sustainability, ESG, and wellness considerations while ensuring alignment with corporate vision and market trends.

Key responsibilities
- Lead development of interior design concepts and detailed designs for commercial, residential, hospitality, and mixed-use projects.
- Develop project-specific design briefs aligned with business objectives and market strategy.
- Manage design scope from concept to completion, coordinating with architectural and engineering disciplines.
- Ensure sustainability, wellness, and ESG considerations are embedded into designs.
- Coordinate with external consultants, FF&E vendors, and contractors to deliver design intent.
- Review and approve design documentation, finishes, and mock-ups.
- Conduct site visits to ensure design implementation and resolve on-site challenges.
- Serve as primary contact for all design-related matters with internal stakeholders and consultants.
- Facilitate design workshops, reviews, and alignment sessions with operators and stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with brand, quality, functional, and regulatory standards.
- Support procurement with FF&E specifications and vendor evaluations.
- Participate in value engineering to align design with cost efficiency.
- Maintain project records, briefs, schedules, and approvals.
- Prepare and present progress reports and design presentations to senior leadership.
Experience & skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or related field (Master’s preferred).
- 15+ years of experience in interior design with a strong portfolio in residential, commercial, or hospitality projects.
- Minimum 5 years in a client/developer-side design management role.
- Experience with large-scale retail or mixed-use projects.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite.
- Strong understanding of FF&E, materials, finishes, and space planning.
- Familiarity with local building codes, regulatory standards, and sustainability requirements.
- LEED, WELL, or other sustainability-related accreditation preferred.
- Experience working with hotel operators, luxury brands, or retail tenants a plus.
- Strong project management, organizational, and communication skills.
