Job description
School days at The Aquila School run from 7.25am to 4.15pm Monday to Thursday and finish at noon on Fridays, with the occasional evening or weekend commitment. Within that week, Islamic lessons need to be creative and engaging, with children actively learning throughout and teaching personalised to individual needs. Reporting is to the AHT or Head of Secondary. The curriculum is inclusive and learner led, taking account of the cultural heritage of the school community and the local region, which gives this subject particular weight. Safety and care of children come first at all times. Beyond the classroom, you will lead CAS activities, contribute to staff training and support newsletters, school functions and marketing activities that help the school reach its pupil number targets. As the school grows, every teacher is expected to step up as a lead learner and subject leader. Strong relationships with families and colleagues, along with the initiative and flexibility a growing school needs, matter as much as classroom skill. Holidays follow the KHDA approved calendar, plus five days during the school holiday period.
