A key responsibility includes troubleshooting complex voice, signaling, and media-related issues across LAN, WAN, and SIP trunk environments to restore services quickly and minimize downtime. The role requires continuous monitoring and optimization of voice quality parameters such as QoS, latency, jitter, and packet loss to ensure high availability and performance of communication services. The engineer is responsible for performance optimization and capacity planning, analyzing network usage trends and implementing system upgrades, patches, and enhancements to meet future demand. The role also involves integrating voice systems with collaboration tools and contact center platforms while maintaining accurate documentation of network architecture, configurations, and operational procedures. Additionally, the position enforces voice security measures including encryption (SRTP/TLS) and fraud prevention mechanisms to protect communication systems. The Communication Engineer collaborates with carriers, vendors, and internal IT teams to support voice services and ensure operational continuity.
