Job description
UBS is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join its Sophisticated Trading Tools Team in Qatar. You will be responsible for designing and developing robust and scalable software products for digital trading access and solutions, supporting the Global Wealth Management Business across Europe and APAC. This role demands a strong foundation in full-stack development, cloud security, and integration within a complex financial services environment. You will collaborate globally with IT teams and contribute to the strategic trading tools used across UBS.

Key responsibilities
- Design and develop new software products using modern technologies and agile methodologies
- Work closely with enterprise and security architects to ensure strategic integration with hosting and security platforms
- Apply modern software development practices to ensure consistent state-of-the-art design and implementation
- Ensure delivery of high-quality, scalable, and robust software products that integrate into the enterprise ecosystem
- Analyze business requirements, design and implement solutions, and develop software components
- Ensure that produced code is secure, stable, scalable, and operational
- Support the product in resolving high-priority defects and deploying fixes to production systems
- Collaborate effectively with other global IT teams
Experience & skills
- Solid know-how and experience in building robust and scalable software products within a large financial institution
- Proven knowledge and experience in security and cloud hosting architectures
- At least 8+ years of experience in Java and modern frontend development
- Working knowledge of software design patterns and web technologies
- Experience in the financial industry sector, ideally in the Order Management domain
- Proficiency in React, TypeScript, Vite, Micro Frontends and Java
- Experience with Apache Ignite and Kafka is a plus
- Creative mindset with expertise in test- and behavior-driven development
