Job description
The MEA Trade & Working Capital Financial Institutions Sales â Senior Associate is a client-facing role within the Trade & Working Capital division of J.P. Morgan Payments, based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The position supports the Middle East and Africa (MEA) Financial Institutions (FI) Sales team in driving revenue growth, client origination, and strategic trade finance initiatives. The role focuses on delivering both traditional core trade productsâsuch as Documentary Letters of Credit, Draft Discounting, and Trade Loansâand innovative digital trade solutions tailored to liquidity, risk mitigation, and working capital needs. The Senior Associate works closely with the Financial Institutions Group (FIG) Sales team, Product teams, Distribution, and other stakeholders to develop and execute regional trade strategies. Responsibilities include building new pipelines, increasing revenues from existing FI clients, monitoring balance sheets, supporting trade committee approvals, and coordinating sell-down strategies. The position requires strong knowledge of trade finance products, credit and regulatory considerations, and the ability to manage cross-functional collaboration while ensuring high-quality transaction execution and client satisfaction.

Key responsibilities
- Contribute to the growth of MEA FI Trade revenues by developing and implementing a comprehensive regional Trade & Working Capital strategy aligned with business objectives.
- Drive new business origination by identifying and positioning core trade products and innovative working capital solutions to Financial Institutions across MEA.
- Collaborate closely with FIG Sales, Product, Distribution, and Customer Service teams to ensure seamless transaction execution and high levels of client satisfaction.
- Coordinate sell-down strategies with the distribution team to support effective credit line utilization and balance sheet optimization.
- Work with the Core Trade Product team to support new product approvals in identified jurisdictions and ensure regulatory alignment.
- Develop in-depth country, industry, and client knowledge to proactively identify new opportunities and expand trade flows.
- Conduct comprehensive balance sheet monitoring, including portfolio reviews, trade committee approvals, and Loan Return Calculator (LRC) submissions.
- Ensure adherence to credit, risk, corporate governance, and regulatory requirements while maintaining strong stakeholder relationships across diverse work streams.
Experience & skills
- Bachelorâs Degree or equivalent qualification required.
- Demonstrated experience in positioning and winning new Trade Finance flows from Financial Institutions within the MEA region.
- Expert knowledge of Core Trade products, including Documentary Letters of Credit, Draft Discounting, and Trade Loans.
- Strong analytical, presentation, project management, and strategic planning skills.
- Solid understanding of credit, risk management, corporate governance, and regulatory requirements relevant to trade finance.
- Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across Product, Sales, and Operations teams.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for financial analysis, reporting, and portfolio monitoring.
- Fluency in Arabic and French is preferred.
