Job description
The Executive Director for Privileged Client Banking at First Abu Dhabi Bank (FAB) is a senior leadership role responsible for managing the Corporate & Investment Banking portfolio in Abu Dhabi and across the Middle East. The role focuses on driving strategic growth, overseeing complex financial transactions, and maintaining strong relationships with high-profile clients, including major corporations, government entities, and high-net-worth individuals. The position entails developing and executing strategic plans to expand corporate and investment banking business, providing guidance to senior bankers, and ensuring high performance within the team. The Executive Director collaborates with internal business units to identify cross-selling opportunities, monitors market trends, and advises the board of directors on strategic opportunities and challenges. Ensuring strict compliance with UAE and international banking regulations and internal risk management policies is a critical part of the role. The position also represents FAB at high-level industry events and forums, strengthening the bank's brand and influence in regional and global financial markets.

- Develop and execute strategic plans to grow corporate and investment banking business in the UAE and Middle East
- Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of senior bankers to ensure high performance and professional development
- Oversee complex financial transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, capital raising, and structured finance deals
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, including major corporations, government entities, and high-net-worth individuals
- Collaborate with internal business units to identify cross-selling opportunities and maximize revenue
- Ensure adherence to local and international banking regulations, internal policies, and risk management frameworks
- Represent FAB at high-level industry events, forums, and with external stakeholders to strengthen the bank’s brand
- Provide strategic market and business insights to the board of directors to inform decision-making and strategy
Experience & skills
- Master’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA or CFA preferred
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in corporate and investment banking, with substantial senior leadership experience
- Proven track record of driving business growth and managing high-performing teams in the banking sector
- In-depth knowledge of corporate and investment banking products, services, and industry best practices
- Strong understanding of global financial markets, economic trends, and their implications for banking strategies
- Extensive experience in Middle East financial markets, particularly in the UAE
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with C-level executives and high-profile clients
- Strong analytical and strategic decision-making skills in fast-paced environments
- Thorough understanding of UAE and regional financial regulations and compliance requirements
- Fluency in English; Arabic language skills highly desirable
