Job description
Letters of credit, guarantees, collections, trade loans and document handling are the processes this role sets out to transform with AI in a Dubai banking environment. The posting is titled Lead Software Engineer, but the requirements describe a lead business and product analysis role on trade-finance transformation, and while the summary lists 5 to 7 years of work experience, the detailed requirements ask for 8 to 10. Requirements sit at the centre of the work, from process models, user stories and acceptance criteria to API, interface and data mapping requirements with full traceability. AI/ML, GenAI, LLMs, prompts, RAG, conversational AI and AI agents all need to be understood well enough to define and validate what gets built, often on Azure AI. Responsible AI and governance run alongside, with Risk, Compliance, AML, sanctions, Legal, Information Security and audit stakeholders closely involved. Workshops, UAT, adoption and operating-model change carry the solution through to the business. Vendor coordination and executive communication complete the stakeholder side. Substantial banking experience and strong trade-finance domain knowledge are essential.
Required skills
Key responsibilities
- Analyse trade-finance processes across letters of credit, guarantees, collections, trade loans, document handling and customer servicing
- Model current and future-state processes for digital and workflow transformation
- Define business requirements, user stories and acceptance criteria
- Specify API, interface and data mapping requirements with clear system context
- Validate requirements for AI/ML, GenAI, RAG, conversational AI and AI-agent solutions
- Prioritise the requirements backlog with business and technology stakeholders
- Facilitate workshops with business, technology and control functions
- Coordinate user acceptance testing and track defects to resolution
- Maintain end-to-end traceability from requirements through testing
- Embed Responsible AI principles, banking controls, privacy and security requirements in solution design
- Engage Risk, Compliance, AML, sanctions, Legal, Information Security and audit stakeholders throughout delivery
- Support adoption and operating-model change as solutions go live
- Manage vendor contributions to analysis and delivery
Experience & skills
- Bring 8 to 10 years of experience in business analysis, product analysis or transformation delivery, with substantial banking experience
- Demonstrate strong trade-finance domain knowledge across letters of credit, guarantees, collections, trade loans, document handling and customer servicing
- Show experience delivering digital banking or workflow transformation, including APIs, integrations, data requirements, testing and adoption
- Understand AI/ML, GenAI, LLM, prompt, RAG, conversational AI, AI-agent and Responsible AI concepts well enough to define and validate requirements
- Offer experience operating in regulated financial services alongside Risk, Compliance, AML, sanctions, Legal, Information Security and audit
- Use requirements, backlog, process modelling and documentation tools proficiently
- Have working knowledge of Azure AI and enterprise platforms
- Communicate confidently with executives and lead change across stakeholder groups
