Job description

Responsible for leading a team of Solution Architects within the Retail Banking Group, ensuring retail technology solutions are scalable, secure, and aligned with business objectives and the enterprise technology strategy. Operating across agile squads and waterfall-managed systems of record, the role defines and promotes solution architecture principles, standards, and best practices; collaborates with Enterprise Architecture to align solution design with strategic roadmaps; oversees end-to-end solution design and governance to balance business needs, cost, scalability, and risk; partners with business stakeholders to translate needs into solution roadmaps; guides delivery teams with architectural blueprints, integration patterns, and technology choices; identifies technology-driven opportunities for innovation and efficiency; and proactively identifies architectural risks with defined mitigation strategies. The remit includes senior stakeholder engagement across business, product, engineering, and technology to deliver value-driven outcomes supporting RBG’s strategic goals, while mentoring solution architecture teams and influencing execution across hybrid environments with vendor-managed systems and in-house agile squads.
