Job description
Masdar, the UAEās clean energy champion jointly owned by ADNOC, Mubadala and TAQA, seeks a Head of Talent Development to lead the strategic design, development and execution of transformative, enterprise-wide talent initiatives that strengthen leadership pipelines, elevate workforce capabilities and accelerate career growth across a high-growth, future-focused global renewable energy and green hydrogen business. Based at Masdar HQ in Abu Dhabi, the role defines and leads Masdarās global talent development strategy, translating business needs into scalable programs that build future-ready capabilities; identifies and implements digital learning ecosystems (LMS, LXP, AI-driven tools) such as Workday, Cornerstone and Degreed to enable personalized, scalable development; and designs leadership development frameworks for all levels from emerging leaders to senior executives, including tailored coaching and succession pipeline strengthening. The mandate covers building career frameworks (pathing, mentoring, development plans) and promoting international mobility, governing technical and behavioral competency frameworks embedded into performance management, talent reviews and learning programs, and maintaining a global talent database to provide data-driven insights on skills, gaps and opportunities. The Head fosters a culture of continuous learning via innovative L&D strategies, microlearning and experiential programs with metrics-driven impact and ROI, partners on succession planning and workforce readiness to identify critical roles, successors and gaps aligned to strategic workforce planning and future skill requirements, and develops high-impact Emirati graduate programs and UAE national talent pools integrated into succession. The role drives employee engagement, wellness and recognition (e.g., Masdar Annual Awards and āKAFUā program), develops action plans from survey findings, leads and mentors the talent development team, and contributes to budgeting, performance reporting, annual operational plans and KPIs aligned to Masdarās objectives in advancing renewable energy and green hydrogen globally.

Key responsibilities
- Define and lead Masdarās global talent development strategy, translating business needs into scalable programs that build future-ready capabilities.
- Design and implement leadership development frameworks for emerging leaders through senior executives, including tailored coaching and strengthened succession pipelines.
- Select and deploy digital learning ecosystems (LMS, LXP, AI-driven tools) and platforms such as Workday, Cornerstone and Degreed to deliver personalized, scalable learning.
- Build career frameworks including career pathing, mentoring and individual development plans, and promote international assignments and global talent mobility.
- Develop, govern and embed technical and behavioral competency frameworks into performance management, talent reviews and learning programs.
- Maintain a global talent database and produce data-driven insights on skills inventories, capability gaps and development opportunities.
- Foster continuous learning through innovative L&D strategies, microlearning and experiential programs, applying metrics-driven approaches to measure learning impact and ROI.
- Partner with stakeholders on succession planning and workforce readiness to identify critical roles, successors and talent gaps aligned with strategic workforce planning.
- Develop and implement high-impact Emirati graduate programs and UAE national talent pools, integrating UAE nationals into succession and workforce strategies and collaborating with educational institutions and government bodies.
- Drive employee engagement, wellness and recognition initiatives (including Masdar Annual Awards and āKAFUā), and lead action planning based on engagement survey results.
- Lead, mentor and manage the talent development team to ensure high engagement, performance and professional growth.
- Drive the unitās annual operational business plans, KPIs and performance reporting aligned with Masdarās objectives, contributing to budgeting and monitoring outcomes.
Experience & skills
- Possess at least 12ā15 years of experience in Talent Development with a minimum of 5 years in a leadership role overseeing enterprise talent strategy.
- Hold a Bachelorās degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology or equivalent; MBA or relevant Masterās degree from a top-tier internationally recognized institution preferred.
- Demonstrate a proven track record in building scalable leadership and career development frameworks in high-growth, future-focused industries (e.g., global energy, innovation or sustainability-oriented organizations).
- Show deep expertise in competency modeling, succession planning, learning principles and strategic workforce readiness.
- Exhibit familiarity with digital learning ecosystems and talent platforms (e.g., Workday, Cornerstone, Degreed), including LMS, LXP and AI-driven learning tools.
- Demonstrate the ability to influence C-level stakeholders and translate talent strategy into measurable business value within a corporate/multifunctional environment.
- Apply knowledge of change management concepts and trends and effectively manage cross-functional teams with exposure to Middle East and GCC markets.
- Deliver strong communication and interpersonal capabilities with high-level organization, planning, reporting and KPI/ROI measurement discipline.
