Job description
As an HR Specialist on the MISS program supporting the U.S. Department of State in Iraq, you will assist in human resources operations, ensuring compliance with local labor laws and fostering a positive work environment in alignment with KBR's values. This role will provide technical and clerical HR support, assist in policy implementation, manage employee relations issues, coordinate training programs, and maintain accurate HR records. The position will be based in Houston, Chantilly, or Dubai and is contingent on contract award.

Key responsibilities
- Assist in HR functions for the MISS Program, ensuring alignment with KBR's policies, values, strategic objectives, and compliance with local labor laws.
- Provide clerical and technical support for personnel actions, ensuring all documentation is accurate and up-to-date.
- Assist in implementing HR policies and procedures that promote a positive and inclusive work environment.
- Assist in addressing employee relations issues, including conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and performance management.
- Serve as a point of contact for employees, addressing HR-related queries and concerns.
- Coordinate and facilitate training programs to enhance employee skills and knowledge.
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee records, ensuring compliance with company and legal standards.
- Prepare and submit regular HR reports to management, highlighting key metrics and areas for improvement.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Experience & skills
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- At least 3 years of relevant HR experience.
- Strong understanding of HR practices and principles.
- Excellent English communication skills (written and verbal).
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- High level of integrity and professionalism.
- Experience working in a multicultural environment.
- Proficiency in HR software and Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Willingness to travel to locations in Iraq as needed.
- Valid passport with at least 12 months of validity and 6 blank pages.
- Preferred: Active U.S. Government issued Secret Security Clearance.
- Preferred: Knowledge of Iraqi local labor laws.
