Job description
Corporate channels, H2H connectivity, payments, cash management, trade finance, Treasury and FX platforms all need testing before anything reaches production at RAKBANK, and this Lead Test Engineer owns that work for Wholesale Banking and Treasury. Based at the RAKBANK Operation Centre in Dubai, you set a risk-based testing strategy in line with the bank's Quality Engineering framework. End-to-end transaction flows get particular attention, from initiation through processing, settlement and reconciliation, including failures, reversals and edge cases. A domain-level regression suite needs to grow as platforms, products and integrations change. Automation and AI-assisted testing are a priority, using approaches such as BDD and TDD while keeping results reliable and auditable. Between 5 and 10 Test Engineers report to you, alongside vendors, delivery partners and offshore resources who need coordinating. Release readiness calls rest with you, as does oversight of performance, resilience and security testing and challenge of vendor test evidence. Expect to bring at least 10 years of software testing in banking or financial services, and experience with iGTB, Aurionpro, FIS Front Arena or LSEG Refinitiv is an advantage.

Key responsibilities
- Develop a risk-based testing strategy aligned with RAKBANK's Quality Engineering framework
- Determine test coverage across products, platforms, integrations and business processes
- Tailor testing approaches to business criticality, regulatory considerations, complexity and delivery timelines
- Lead testing across Corporate Banking channels, H2H integrations, payments, cash management, liquidity, virtual accounts, sweeping, trade finance, Treasury and FX platforms
- Validate end-to-end transaction flows from initiation through processing, settlement and reconciliation
- Test exception scenarios, transaction failures, reversals and operational edge cases
- Maintain and enhance a domain-level regression suite as platforms, products and integrations change
- Champion test automation and AI-assisted quality engineering across the testing lifecycle
- Evaluate approaches such as BDD, TDD and AI-enabled test design and execution
- Ensure automated and AI-generated tests deliver reliable, auditable and compliant outcomes
- Measure and report improvements in efficiency, quality and release confidence
- Manage and mentor a team of 5 to 10 Test Engineers
- Coordinate testing across internal teams, vendors, delivery partners and offshore resources
- Drive defect triage, root cause analysis and issue resolution across technology domains
- Serve as quality gatekeeper for milestones and production releases, escalating significant delivery risks
- Deliver regular reporting on testing progress, critical defects, release risks and regression health
- Present quality insights and recommendations to senior business and technology stakeholders
- Define environment and test data requirements for realistic business validation
- Partner with infrastructure and support teams to resolve environment and connectivity issues
- Oversee performance, resilience, security and operational readiness testing with specialist teams
- Review and challenge vendor testing approaches and evidence
Experience & skills
- Bring a minimum of 10 years of experience in software testing and quality engineering within banking or financial services
- Hold a bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or a related discipline
- Demonstrate strong functional knowledge of Wholesale Banking, Transaction Banking, Payments, Cash Management, Trade Finance, Treasury and FX products
- Show proven experience defining and executing enterprise-scale testing strategies across complex, multi-system environments
- Prove experience building and maintaining domain-level regression frameworks
- Apply a strong background in test automation and AI-enabled testing practices
- Lead quality engineering teams across onshore, offshore, partner and vendor-led environments
- Understand APIs, middleware, digital channels, core banking platforms and integration architectures
- Offer experience with transaction banking platforms such as iGTB or Aurionpro and Treasury platforms such as FIS Front Arena or LSEG Refinitiv (an advantage)
