Job description

The Senior Geotechnical Engineer role in Dubai involves managing a diverse portfolio of geotechnical projects across all life stages, from feasibility studies to project completion. Responsibilities include conducting detailed geotechnical analyses, geological and geotechnical modeling, and providing comprehensive design solutions tailored to client needs. The engineer ensures project delivery on time and within budget while maintaining the highest quality standards. Additional responsibilities include preparing compelling project proposals, undertaking site investigations, supervising construction activities, preparing technical deliverables such as reports and design documentation, managing project financials and administrative tasks, and actively participating in client management and business development. The role requires collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, mentoring junior engineers, staying current with industry best practices and emerging technologies, and ensuring compliance with regional geotechnical standards and regulatory requirements. The position supports the development of innovative, practical, and sustainable solutions for infrastructure projects throughout the UAE and region.

- Manage a diverse portfolio of geotechnical projects across all life stages, including feasibility, design, construction, and completion, ensuring adherence to schedules, budgets, and quality standards.
- Conduct detailed geotechnical analyses, geological and geotechnical modeling, and develop comprehensive design solutions tailored to specific client requirements and project constraints.
- Undertake site investigations, supervise construction activities, and provide on-site inspection and technical support to ensure proper implementation of geotechnical designs and compliance with engineering standards.
- Prepare technical deliverables including detailed reports, design documentation, and project management documentation to facilitate project execution, client understanding, and regulatory compliance.
- Manage project financials, including cost estimation, budget monitoring, and administrative tasks, ensuring transparency, accuracy, and alignment with project objectives.
- Participate in client management initiatives and support business development by preparing proposals, delivering technical presentations, and promoting innovative and sustainable infrastructure solutions.
- Supervise, mentor, and support junior engineering staff, fostering a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performing team environment while building technical capacity.
- Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, providing geotechnical expertise to integrated solutions, staying current with industry best practices, emerging technologies, and regional regulatory requirements.
Experience & skills
- Possess a Bachelorβs degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline from an accredited institution, with strong foundational knowledge in geotechnical engineering.
- Demonstrate 10+ years of professional experience in geotechnical engineering within consulting or industry sectors, with a proven track record of managing medium to large-scale projects.
- Exhibit strong competence in detailed geotechnical design, geotechnical and geological modeling, and technical analysis for infrastructure projects.
- Proven experience conducting site investigations, supervising construction activities, and providing construction support services in alignment with engineering standards and project specifications.
- Demonstrate excellent technical report writing and documentation skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical information clearly to clients and stakeholders.
- Show strong client management and stakeholder engagement capabilities, with the ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams and maintain effective relationships.
- Demonstrate ability to supervise, mentor, and develop engineering staff, fostering knowledge transfer and technical growth within the team.
- Possess exceptional analytical, problem-solving, written, and verbal communication skills, with knowledge of relevant geotechnical standards, guidelines, and best practices, and willingness to travel to project sites as required.
