Job description
The Head of Corporate Communication serves as a strategic leader responsible for defining, leading, and executing Mashreq Bank’s global communication agenda. This role oversees PR, internal and external communications, social media strategy, content development, and ESG communications, ensuring brand consistency, market relevance, and stakeholder trust across all regions. Acting as a key advisor to EXCO, this leader drives thought leadership, crisis response, and integrated storytelling initiatives that elevate Mashreq’s brand visibility, reputation, and influence across global markets.

Key responsibilities
- Develop and execute a global corporate communications strategy aligned with the bank’s strategic vision and brand objectives.
- Lead thought leadership, PR, and media engagement programs to position Mashreq as an innovation-driven financial leader.
- Manage crisis communication planning and rapid response strategies across international markets.
- Work closely with the EXCO to craft and deliver high-impact internal and external messaging, speeches, and event communications.
- Lead content strategy and editorial planning across channels (digital, PR, social media, print, and intranet) in English and Arabic.
- Oversee the social media strategy and ensure consistent brand tone, engagement, and impact across global markets.
- Develop and execute integrated ESG communication campaigns, highlighting sustainability achievements and partnerships.
- Collaborate with marketing and regional teams to ensure unified messaging across local agencies and international branches.
- Build and mentor a high-performing communications team, promoting creativity, accountability, and continuous development.
- Manage external agency partnerships globally, including PR, social, SEO, and content marketing firms, ensuring ROI and alignment with KPIs.
- Plan, monitor, and control the communications budget, ensuring efficient resource allocation and maximum brand impact.
Experience & skills
- 18–20 years of progressive experience in marketing, communications, branding, or public relations—preferably in banking or financial services.
- Proven experience leading large-scale communications functions across multiple markets and managing global agency networks.
- Fluency in English and Arabic with exceptional writing, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong understanding of digital, social, and modern media ecosystems, with an analytical approach to performance measurement.
- Demonstrated ability to manage crisis communication and reputation recovery at a senior level.
- Experience in ESG communications and sustainability-related storytelling is highly desirable.
- Strong financial acumen for budget forecasting, allocation, and reporting.
- Collaborative, strategic, and organized leader capable of influencing C-level stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
